Hi David, great video here. I have a request . Would you make a video showing a side by side comparison & analysis of several or all of the shell cordovan tanneries products & production methods, etc. ? Thanks for your well informed and honest perspective on the subject content. It makes learning more enjoyable!

Thank you! Yeah that’s the hope, but there’s limited value getting too nuanced and expansive in every tannery because in reality there’s only a few tanneries making shell cordovan that’s broadly available to the public to buy a pair of shoes or boots in. But yeah will work on it

Yeah it’s for sure a great shade of brown that isn’t too red or orange. Very true mid brown imo

Big admirer of your shoe game and this is a beautiful pair of longwings.... but those wide hemmed rolled jeans look AWWWWWWWWFUL with these, bruh. I'm certain they look like perfection with a slimmer cuffed chino/dress pant. I do love the black welt on these.

We’ll have to agree to disagree. I wouldn’t consider those wide, it’s one of the original straight Levi’s models. But let’s be honest, I’m not changing any minds by correcting the record about the jeans here lol.

How do these compare to Grant Stone? They pride themselves on using quality materials and goodyear welt construction for their shoes. If I remember correctly, they sometimes do limited runs of shell cordovan in their models like the diesel boot, edward boot, loafer and maybe the longwings.

I don’t have any hands on experience with grant stone. But from a far, I’ve always thought grant stone left a lot to be desired in the last and pattern. I don’t mean how dress or casual they are, but just the proportions and how anatomical in shape they are.

@@Shellvedge I agree with what you say about the last and pattern. When I was only looking at the thumbnail of the video, I thought your video was reviewing the Longwing Garnet Shell Cordovan by Grant Stone.
