Summary Write the target material in your own handwriting Read material ten times with full focus immediately just before going to sleep After waking up wash face with cold water and read target material with full concentration 10 times . Results vary based on persons memorisation capability. Repeat this technique multiple times until topic is mastered.
In this video the respected sir talked about memorization technique First step: write the hand written notes in your own way. Second step : read the material 10 times before going to bed with full concentration Third step : when you wake up early read again 10 times In this way we are going to train our subconscious mind. By doing this we can master memorization technique
I did not know this as a formal technique, but I used to do at least part of this during my school days. Considering the vast amount of history we had to memorize (Mohenjo-Daro Harappa up to British rule), I used to make my own notes in a book which I then read daily after dinner. It helped me tremendously in remembering details of various rulers spanning centuries. The step about reading next morning is intriguing. Thank you for this video and I will certainly try all the steps in my present day learning of Indian scriptures.
there should be more people like you, sir. digging our secrets beyond the world's imaginations and teaching it to the youth for the betterment of the world.
This is something I've discovered by myself during my school days. I've applied this method and it is very useful for science and other subjects like history where we have to focus on every single detail and timeline. It's pretty helpful even if you're using it few days before exams before going to bed because during sleeping our subconscious connects dots. I'm glad to see that people who talking about it 🙏🦋🦋
@@harshavardhanchikane7585 No we could do so nearly the whole chapters, we memorize them all, the teachers 👩🏫would ask us for home-work everyday different chapters, but if we are lazy we can't get to what we are to do, also we must keep tracks of our memorized perticulars too.
I discovered this myself as well in college. I also found that reading the material aloud helped me to focus and I was using another sense: writing the material, reading it silently as well as aloud reading to involve another sense. Once I discovered this process I made much better grades. I wish I’d discovered this much earlier in life!
@@pravinlal108 . First I practiced this technique with simple things like maths and physics formula, bhagavth Geetha Shlokas.. I need to master this technique...I just started with simple concepts bcs I want it bcm habit to me..i invested time for it. So now it's good for studying and researching stuff.. Just start it with simple words and make it habit and then apply for ur studies and exam.... Give the time for learn this technique... Just like when u learn bike or car, basic computer things
This is an excellent method. During my school days my maths teacher always asked us to write down the problem and then answer it. By this one will understand the question better than just reading the question and answering it.
Thank you Sir. Though we might have unconsciously done bits and pieces of this technique, when we were younger, we are happy to know from your video, that we were on the right path. This is pure evidence of the grace of the Goddess. Kindly bless us Sir, that we shall transmit this knowledge to our children too. Namaskaram
I found another method accidentally. Almost same as this. Write the target material and reading it simultaneously. Do it for more times. But trying to memorize more length of the line and writing it. If you do it for nearly 3 to 4 times, you will memorize easily. I was surprized the first time I applied this. When I wrote the exam, words from the essay are coming to my pen without any effort. I put my pen on the paper and words are coming. I applied this to languages. If I had known this in my earlier stages of my life, my life would have been different. If anybody use this on exams successfully, I will be the happiest person. 1) Conviction to learn is important. 2) Writing one time with concentration is better than reading 10 times
🎉Thank you for your generosity in sharing this technique 🎉 I have practiced it without knowing the exact description so well explained by you. Thank you for explaining it so well🎉
Lot of memorizing is required in MBBS..our senior used to tell same way minimum 8-10 Readings and notes will help produce the material during writing ✍️ exams..I remember all answers would just flow thru pen while writing exams
Sir, your methods of memorization has also been what my mother uses since becoming a member of the school administration.. I always wonder how she does it when no matter how long the speech was according to the occasion, she never used the papers that she wrote the speech on. She never holds anything. Except a microphone. She always finishes the entire speech with confidence. She did the same techniques as yours. She also told me that she would read the speech aloud a couple of times with the paper then afterwards she will memorize it aloud or in a whisper without looking at the paper. She would do so while staring at a plain white wall and it's as if the papers were like pages of a book moving in her mind. The next practice day she never holds the paper anymore and she can memorize the whole thing. I understand now. Thanks for the tips, sir.
I remember to write with my right hand and again with my left hand when I was in high school. It was the history lessons and then at night I would see in the dark of my room walls like a movie the lessons that I had studied before. Thanks for the lecture.
Please don't say 'unknowingly'. It is very much part of the intellectual and cultural heritage of India. It is in your blood, even though you may not be aware of it. Thank you for your comment!
It worked and helped me. Am able to memorize larger volumes of text compared to little(in past). You are amazing because I see many people who know these things but never shares the real things. They only share token information and not the real knowledge even to really mertorious and good people (due to insecurity). Thanks for being a true Guru. Regards and Respects.
I am very happy to know that it has proved effective. I am grateful to you for your kind words. I am always at the service of my students, and see myself as an instrument of the Supreme. God bless you!
Very Nice. I think the act of writing and reading the material several times strengthens the synapses that connect Neurons in the brain. Those strong connections make it easier to recall memorised material. Doing it at night before sleep allows the subconscious mind to keep working without distraction. Obviously this will be hard to implement for large volumes of material. It might work great for memorising a speech that is 2-3 pages long or for learning key concepts in any subject.
A group study with pupils with same enthusiasm and dedication will yield positive results. We memories 4000+ verses, many of which with more than 6 lines, by group chanting. Vedas and available upanishds are memorised this way. An reasonably undisturbed ambiance and dedicated pupils makes it easy. There are ways to remember what comes next to the verses.
As many have mentioned, I have practiced similar techniques based on my own intuition and learning experience. Also, I recommend the following technique to my students (since we have a lot of derivations to learn!): 1>>Write the derivation/notes (while simultaneously reading aloud, if preferred) once - with the aid of the book/reference material 2>>Close the book and write the derivation from memory once 3>>Evaluate with the book, and note the places where you made a mistake 4>>Study those places with more attention (use dimensional analysis or mnemonics if possible) 5>>Repeat steps 1 through 3 once again Leave a couple of days gap and do the same thing again... This time you can even directly start from step 2 (to see how much retention you have) I also suggest they have a schedule so that they can study some other topics during the in-between days and learn more material!
Thank you very much Sir for your informative video. I always wrote the material down ...in fact many times. Also used to read aloud and try to recall the same. I'll now read it 10 times as suggested by you before bedtime and after waking up. I'm sure I'll benefit tremendously. Would be a great boon to senior citizens who worry about becoming senile. Jai Hind
This classical technique was induced by my class teacher with a whip in his hand. I still remember vividly the texts of my school and university days. Thanks for refreshing my past three scores and ten ago. Much Love to Doctor Sahib.
You may find this knowledge useful... The word "every" means "each", so a noun or verb that follows after "every" must be in the SINGULAR form. Examples: Every man, woman and child must apply this excellent technique in order to memorise anything. / May peace come upon the earth in every nation, every home, and every family. / Everybody loves somebody sometime. / Every day is a day that the Lord has made; I will rejoice and be glad in it. / Every day in every way I'm getting better & better.
I have adopted this technique partially. I.e I used to write the Target material. Then read it many times. Certainly not before bedtime.sucess is also partial. Now I shall try this.
Thank you for your kind comment. If you read the target material before bedtime you can harness the astonishing powers of the subconscious mind. All the best!
1. Write the thing you want. 2. Read before going to bed. 3. Wash your face with cold water read 10 times. 4. Read 10 times after waking up and washing your face.
I used to have memory problems in my childhood. I was quite sure what questions were going to be asked in the exam and used to memorise those answers but unfortunately I forgot those answers by the time of writing the exam paper. Even four decades later I have short time memory losses. I used to wonder how Sage Sankracharya memorised and mastered all the Four Vedas by the time he was 8 years old.
Sankara was born with a divine mission: to destroy doubt. Sanka means doubt, and hara means destruction or defeat. He is simply beyond comparison with ordinary human beings. All that we can do is to improve our memorisation skills substantially using methodologies and processes. Coming to your specific case, kindly try to carry out a self analysis. Has your memory failure anything to do with lack of focus? Is it possible for you to be really passionate about the material you are trying to memorise?
👌👌👌I totally agree. Our elders also advised so. Our Physics Professor MKK Menon made us to by heart the entire subject to score well telling he as a Rank holder in Masters made by heart the entire 2000 page notes. When we study Vedas, the Guru makes us chant each sloka ten times and we learn without books.
Thank you for your brilliant comment! Unfortunately, many students of today look down upon memorisation. They claim to believe in understanding rather than in memorisation. But the fact is that comprehension and memorisation are not contradictory processes. Thank you, once again!
This is an excellent query. To claim that writing came very late in India is a very Western interpretation of the scenario. Still, there must have been a time without script. I shall speak about in another video. Thank you!
Fantastic! It is part of the cultural tradition of India. Only, sometimes it is not quite visible. I don't think that you started using it by accident. Thank you for your comment!
Some observations on the video:- - there can be a grammatical correction. Instead of "write in your own hands", you could use "write WITH your own hands". - there was background sound audible even though the video was shot in a studio
'Hand' here means handwriting. Write in your own hand means write in your own handwriting. I shall try to improve the tech quality of the videos in future. In fact, I have already discussed it with my tech boys. Thank you!
Thanks a lot for your teaching sir, I learnt proper pronunciation and communication,we are preparing for Tamilnadu teachers recruitment board exam, your teaching is very useful for us, it's my humble request that if you take class regarding that syllabus I will be grateful to you
I shall try my very best to cover the syllabus. But please understand that I am under pressure from several directions. Still, I shall try very much to serve the TRB candidates.
I knew that I too trouble you and increase your pressure in this time , when you feel relaxed and find time to read books please consider about our request, thanks for your concern , you have replied me among your all your busy schedule
The Indian/Hindu Pandits/Priests/Priestesses can Memorize thousands of words, prayers,Prarthana,Sloka,Suktam,Mantras,Sahasranams, its mind boggling what they can do.Because of their love for the truth seeker all over the world i have been able to emulate in perfection their methods with phenomenal results.NamaskarJi Dr Raghu.Bahusahdhanyavadaha:.
An Ancient Indian Memorization Technique Summary: 1. Write the material in your own handwriting; 2. Read that material ten times with full concentration just before going to bed; 3. Place the material by your side 4. Wash your face with cold water and read the material again ten times.
Once writing down the target material down in our own words in a notebook, should we now read the target material or the written notes 10 + 10 times sir ?
I landed here searching for Sanskrit tables memorisation tips. Will try out. Unknown potential of subconscious mind.. Have vaguely observed it while chanting or humming a few verses. Feels like it happens in the sleep too and hums itself after waking up. We become what we think as said in Gita. In very small kids, over trivial things or toys there may be some whining and they may even sleep if in the process.. And it is amazing, how the argument again starts first day next day morning from where it was left the previous day.
For some mysterious reason, this very technique was being taught at the Soviet schools. We had to abide by these simple rules and our memory was just fine. We had to know by heart up to 30 pages, memorizing long poems, texts and excerpts from the Russian classics books e.g. Pushkin, Lermontov, Dostoevsky, Tolstoy, Turgenev etc. It was hard at the beginning yet we gradually got used to it and our brain's memorization capacity soared sky high so to speak. The same applied for the math, physics, geography, foreign languages classes. It was mostly fun and we enjoyed it a great deal. Thanks for the valuable speech, Teacher!
Thank you for this abundant blessing. I will implement this in my memorization technique in passing the CA BAR EXAM which requires the memory of a vast amount of law.
Indeed ! We should be learning these kind of things from schools rather than mugging up whatever the textbooks tells us. It is really these key points that later turn out to be useful in life
