Dr Strong back at it single handedly saving my final exam score, you really do have a knack of posting videos around things poorly taught in lectures!

You have a gift for explaining and simplifying things. I am aware from the comment section that you already have a list of symptoms to cover in your "approach to" series. Can I suggest adding tremor to your list of topics? I wish to express my gratitude to you for the time spent making these videos, they are of tremendous help in my learning.

Dysautonomia, endometriosis, adenomyosis can all cause chronic nausea and vomiting as well however they aren’t listed.

Thank you for this! I wish I had seen this when my son started having chronic nausea and vomiting 9 years ago, he’s had every test/scan/scope multiple times, gallons of blood draws, countless ER trips for rehydration and at least a dozen different meds. After all this, the only diagnosis is chronic nausea and vomiting, and the only thing that helps is cannabis (he is now of age, and moving to Colorado) we live in fear of him developing cannabinoid hyperemesis syndrome, he could not function as an independent adult without it.

Love your videos Dr Strong! Always informative! In line with this run of common presentations, may I be so bold as to suggest pruritus as one of your next topics? It is often a debilitating symptom that is common to a variety of disorders, but behind it lies a complex neurophysiological background, and it can be incredibly difficult to manage. Sprinkle in the consequent dermatological manifestations of prurigo nodularis and lichen simplex chronicus which often confuse clinicians, and interesting new treatment options like naltrexone and aprepitant, it might be easy to fill up a video with content. All the best, and I hope you keep doing these videos!

Thanks for the suggestion! Pruritis wasn't a symptom on my original list to include in this series, but I agree that it is more complex than is often appreciated, and has a broader differential diagnosis than many clinicians realize. Consider it added to my list of upcoming topics! (At any given time, I have a tentative list of upcoming videos that stretches a few months into the future, so I wouldn't expect pruritis before late spring or early summer.)

The remaining symptoms I'm planning to cover in this series include altered mental status, weakness, dysphagia, pruritus, probably a few MSK symptoms (e.g. knee pain, shoulder pain), and seizure! Can't guarantee when precisely any one topic will get posted, but I am hoping to finish the series in 2022.

Can you get chronic vomiting from undiagnosed celiac disease?
@StrongMed
@StrongMed 2 года назад
I don't want to say that it's impossible, but I would say that it would be highly unusual for celiac disease to present with chronic nausea and vomiting as the most prominent symptom.

You forgot oneI have porphyria I'm always throwing up and nausea especially when I'm out in the sun . You know the one that turns your urine purple. I had one doctor tell me in front of another doctor that it was all in my head in front of me it was a miracle they found out I had porphyria it took one doctor to really look at my chart in realize there was something else going on she said we're doing a metal check that's when they found out what was wrong this I suffered ever since I was a teenager they diagnosed me in my 60s can't repair the damage this disorder has done but they can slow it down with hemi infusion
