so peaceful watching these videos brings peace, so well edited, the narrative, the camera movements, the beautiful design of the house. Thank you for your beautiful work.
Good example of using restraint when remodeling. Too often Architects feel the need to make a "Statement". The old adage..."less is more" is always good advice.
Thank you for conducting such a thoughtful renovation of a home that was originally constructed with such love and care. The light within the home flows so beautifully through the home. It's very peaceful. The wood you added to the structure, teach and latch, is such a lovely addition. Very well done. . .
Great to see the original building kept and the foresight to bring it to its full potential. As nice as the original features are, the addition is lovely with those windows and accents to echo the walls below. Great job, well done 👍
The narrative of this house will last perhaps three generations now. Loved the down to earth description of the way they adapted the original house as well- we shouldn’t need an Arts degree and a thesaurus to understand “Archi-speak”.
A green roof or even roof garden would be a great addition to the first floor. Stepping out from the master bedreem into a pebbled desert is something that can easily be improved.
Notes: **that marble-to-wood transition @**0:01** is hot** @0:22 can use that ceiling concept in a select location? 0:36 like the exterior to the balcony-type setting (see: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4wnzMUaH1g4.html), but not the wall (2 shots from 0:54). *the **0:48** bedroom terrace is def cool* ***those steps @**1:45** (2 shots); also see the reverse as a transition @**3:43**; then also **5:22**?*** 2:02 is cool, but not using 3:30 bedroom is elegant *3:32** can do that ceiling* **excellent lighting setup in kitchen @**3:52**... then **3:57**** *vg siding window/opening @**4:08** for bedroom* ****4:26**: can us something like this along stairwells?** *V nice contrast for bedroom @**4:54**... **4:59** is fire* ...**vg use of wall for lighting @**5:02** (see Local Project Tree House also, but that was high)** cool ceiling to bathroo @5:33 (see Japanese small house too) *really cool study @**5:51**, = another first floor idea* **opening in ceiling @**6:13** is very nice... for PH level?**
As an architect in the US I'm always astounded by the unique building products that are used throughout the world. I'm curious about the single lite sliding door on the 'bunker'. Is this a custom door or is it a readily available product?
I like the window end caps! I wish I had the $$$ enough resources to incorporate a resilient off the grid home; thus a green home that incorporates your window end cap design into a MATSON can build! That utilizes 10 Matson cans, that has reinforced support beams that incorporates its Matson can style logo stated obvious design material derivative, and have the style like windows of your video esthetics and to incorporate the earths natural elements that can bring the outside natural elements in! Also opening the ceiling skylight. Line rectangle opening to bring in light through its rectangular shape, which brings in natural light . This eclectic recyclable materials, can help the environment! This three story made stack-able built resilient of those water pumps, and utilizing grey water to feed the plants, and also green house effect in sections of the home to create my minds eyes focal natural point of view which creates the rest of the house's design as i see it! The future off the old industrial electrical fossil grid; into the future's resilience to the cataclysmic old home design! Go GREEn! future home! GO GREEN MIRI TUNTA OR for some TUNA!!!!
Beautiful design but I can't help feeling that they didn't make the most of the rooftop space. There could've been an amazing outdoor lounge there with plants and maybe even fire pit. Anything really.
What is incredible that in places that have more land-nature than people inhabitants would cram themselves uncomfortably close to each other. I guess it is something about zoning or urban planning that makes people put up with this unhealthy mode of living. I would never live in a place where I cannot see landscape or trees out of the windows and instead see other dwelling staring back. And to think , people pay premium to be packed like sardines.
