I normally don't get into high concept homes, or watching room tours of "fancy" Home Cinemas, but this video was a real treat! Not only is this not the typical "rich guy" who's checking off a box for what a high end home should have, but he actually did a lot of the installation himself and seems to have a real love of movies! The room looks great and it was an excellent conversation to listen to, guys! Well done all around! : )

What a gorgeous house. The timber is fantastic, beautiful use of space and light. The cinema is simply stunning- and love to see a product they officially tell us won’t work down under. Congrats on a magnificent job, everyone.

33 minutes!!!! Seriously? Felt like 3.3 minutes, the video was that engaging. Great lineup of the 'usual' suspects of gear. Trinnov, Barco, MadVR, Proceilla (or Krix) for a true high quality home cinema. Was that Kaleidescape on screen in New Zealand? But not in Australia?

Really cool. Congrats! And top gear too. As a fellow kiwi who's response from K is no, can't have in NZ. What's the secret at Banks Peninsula?

We set the stage by claiming that Andrew is a magician… and magicians never give away their secrets. Don’t believe everything you see in movies but I might have lived in the UK at one time…. (Where you can buy them)

What screen and size did he use? There is one shot with the screen removed.. We can see the LCR's and 2 Rels. Is the baffle wall complete in that shot? :)

Yes,yes, but how much, including the calibration service, did it all cost?
@HomeTheatreEngineering
@HomeTheatreEngineering Год назад
Hi, if you are asking because you are thinking of doing your own project then contact us directly through our website or facebook. However we actually don't know the total cost of the project as we did not supply every single item. Also we are not comfortable about publicly disclosing how much a client has spent. The client is watching this post and I will leave it up to him to post that information if he wants to. In terms of audio/video calibration/room tuning it totally depends on how much work is involved. Calibration can start from $1000 and go up to $30,000 (check out Wisdom Audio's calibration rates on their website!) Rooms like this start at about $150,000 and go up from there. We are working on several rooms well over the $1M mark for example.

I can’t recall the exact cost of all the gear but it’s easy to google RRP on all the equipment we talk about. I just remember HTE looked after me with their huge buying power. Calibration is just flights and time but I wouldn’t even think of getting gear like this without also having someone like Andrew calibrate it. Also worth noting is the backup and support from Andrew and his colleagues in the industry is second to none. As for the theatre room it would have easily added $1m to the house build because it’s under ground and highly structural. So back of a napkin guess I’d say $1,2m for room + gear.
