It’s worth watching his live performance in the documentary. He looks about 12 , but the emotion he brings to that performance is amazing.

This beautiful song has encouraged me to be stronger while I’m living in a world of pain. For 15 years now. I’ve also questioned God as to why am I living like this. There’s a movie called Unrest which is about ME and Ren talks and then sings this at the end. Enjoyed this video.

I can see how this song would affect you like that. Thank you so much for your comments.

His symptoms seemed to appear around 2010, 2015 /2016 was the worst year of his life He basically lost his mind to the Lyme damage and psychosis and pain His stem cell transplants were 2016 and he was able to start returning to living again Chapters 1 to 8 are his own reading of these years I love the lack of religion in his view of life Its about the moment of life he is in and how he is able to find the strength within to find another hope He recently said 'don't let the world make you feel small, because you are large and that was how he viewed himself I keep finding so much encouragement in his words hopefulness for a better world Even in the face of a world full of dark contradictions and tragedy

This was written in 2016 i believe. He still had an incorrect diagnosis of ME and was confined to his bedroom and very thin and sick. He was 25 i think. Already 6 years into his illness This was written as a documentary movie theme about ME. Called UNREST. Still available on You Tube.

So glad to see you post a new Ren reaction and discussion. I don't know if you saw his chapters but if you were only going to watch one I would love to see your take on #6 . Of course I've seen them all but have rewatched 6 and it seems to be so impactful because he discusses the peak of his illness / psychosis. It also has a great song at the end.

RENegade secret? There _is_ a live version, with the full song, vut it's on his friend's channel.. Like all things Ren, it's better when it's done live, just Ren and his guitar. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-284ugnS_ruQ.htmlsi=UUDszYK2XqMtqMz7

And I think that version gives sooooo much context to where he was - in his timeline, his music career, his illness… he’s so young and skinny and has no idea how much more he’ll have to endure before even getting a correct diagnosis. Such strength, but so much vulnerability too.

@@LeeannGhow swollen his face is always gets to me. Super early footage of him from before he was sick/before he was very sick, his fave is nothing like that, and then by Blind-Eyed he's stsrting to get his life back and the swelling is mostly gone. So any footage from The Really Bad Years is... so arresting.

I wasn't going to comment but when you asked about the God part I wanted to put my 2 cents. I'm agnostic like Ren and it doesn't bother me when he sings about God because I know he isn't coming from the organized religion aspect. He's coming from the "Higher power" aspect which as humans we all need sometimes in our lives. Loved both of your insights. ❤

There's a live version, a much younger Ren...just a side note because it gives you an insight to Ren. He had a fan post a question about if there was a version of the song without the interview portion. The fan was fighting a terminal illness and it had become his fight song. The song had become very meaningful to him so he wanted it to play at his funeral. Ren saw the post, and didn't have a version without the interview, or in a format he could use, so he made him one. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-284ugnS_ruQ.html&pp=ygUPcGF0aWVuY2UgcmVuIG1l

This was written near the peak of his health problems. He was actually bedridden for the best part of seven years, chronically underweight, on a severely restricted liquid diet and in constant, unrelenting, 24hr, excruciating, chronic pain! Not to mention his mental health issues, partly created, or exacerbated by being given extremely powerful psychotropic drugs, that he didn't actually need, as he'd been misdiagnosed with a range of mental health issues that he didn't actually have, leaving his undiagnosed Lyme's disease, MCAS and severe autoimmunity, free to ravage his body and brain. He was told that his physical symptoms were psychosomatic, ie all in his head! His pain was so great, that he didn't get any proper sleep for 7 years, so was permanently physically and mentally exhausted. It was like 7 years of constant torture 24hrs a day! For several years he couldn't do anything. He couldn't socialise, read or watch tv or films. Even standing in a shower brought him to tears, it was so excruciatingly painful and exhausting. His parent's breakup/divorce and the death of his 2 best friends, one by suicide and only months apart, didn't help his mental state either and his blurred vision, frequent brain fogs and neuropathy didn't help either. It's not surprising that after years of this he had a psychotic break and developed full-blown psychosis! Although an eventual correct diagnosis and treatment, along with a series of stem cell transplants, enabled him to have a life again, he remains seriously and chronically ill. His autoimmunity is actually worse, meaning he's highly allergic to virtually all food, so he can only eat a couple of types of organic meat and 3 or 4 different organic vegetables and nothing else. He has almost the exact same meal, every single mealtime and obviously can't have snacks, eat out or have takeaways. This alone makes travel difficult. His psychosis has cleared but he still suffers from chronic depression, adhd and ptsd. He still has MCAS. He still tires really easily, still gets brain fogs and blurred vision. Still suffers from neuropathy. Still has days when he can't do anything and remains in constant 24hr pain, though at a lesser level than before, most of the time. Some people mistakenly think that he's ok now. He isn't. He's better than he was but is still seriously and largely incurably ill. He just puts a brave face on it and cultivates a positive attitude. His music is, amongst many things, also his medicine. He credits it with saving his life! :)

Do a reaction to the glow pt 2 by the microphones. The album is 60+ long, but can be read into in a multitude of different ways. I think it would make a very interesting video to see how you (and a guest) perceive it (lyrically and musically)

I don't think that "I've been here for some time" means life. I think it means the time he's been living with a mystery disease that he thought would kill him. It would deepen your understanding & appreciation for this man if you watch his Million Subscribers reaction & his later 8 Chapters on RenMakesStuff where he relates his own journey.

What I get from this is a reminder that it seems to be human nature to want to blame something or someone for when things don't go the way we think or want them to go. Rather than accept that things just happen, random acts of nature. Like with the insurance clause of don't cover acts of god.lolz... If anything I would think that god would be tired of getting blamed or people saying, oh it's God's will, you don't have the power to make that clame. I mean that's pretty arrogant. L believe that is called hubris. I believe that when things happen it's an opportunity to use one's faith ànd not just say you have faith. Anyone can say they have faith but how many can say they have used it especially to the degree of Ren. Anyway just a thought, then again I could be wrong. All I know is when I die and go before God and I am asked if I got the joke I want to be able to reply, Yes, can I please move on, lolz... Thanks guys for the reaction, good job.

I wish you could explain to me what in this song could possibly offend someone. That's crazy! I mean really --- what kind of person would take offense at anything in this song?? Are there really people out there that would think Ren is attacking God? Are there really people who think it's BAD to get angry with God? Boggles my mind. Ren is agnostic.

Yep. I’ve seen people take offense at any questioning or any kind of discussion with God.
