In response to some of your communications with me, I thought I'd share a little bit about my perspectives on ASMR, on LIFE, and on getting through some tough times!
(I must stress: This is in no way, shape, or form any kind of psychological advice. It's just from me to you in hopes you can see more of the flowers in life!)

I've been listening to ASMR since 2010, before it was even called "ASMR", searching for whisper videos to help me sleep and stay calm through anxiety. ASMR has blown up since then, in many new and wonderful ways, but you bring a certain amount of nostalgia and authenticity that brought me to these videos over a decade ago. This video, in particular, is one of the best I've ever listened to. Can't wait to see your channel continue to explode :)

Wow - that touched me. I'm very close to my grandkids (2, 6, 8, & 17) mainly because I didn't have a grandmother figure either. My dad's mom made it very clear she did not like kids...so...ok. And my mom's mom died very young. That is why I LOVE being a grandma! Glad you're here! Jeannie

My moms mom died at 58 but she was well known not to love us kids either, and my dads mom died at 57 when I was 5 years old, so I never had that grandma influence either, I am 44 and it still haunts me. I love watching you, although you feel more like a mom figure to me. I lost my mom who I adore in 2013. You give me the calming effect she gave me when she would read or talk. I am glad to be here.

I like how meaningful your intro is, and how you express such lovely gratitude. Also, I like how you ask us how we are. To be honest, as for how I am, I’ve been struggling for a long while. Don’t really want to get into it… self harm, and an eating disorder… but I’m working hard to get better! It’s really hard, but I will continue to take things one day at a time. @@alliemazur8007 trust me I can empathize with some of the things you’re feeling. I deal with depression and anxiety on top of addiction issues, im really trying to work on myself too. I really hope you can find that peace and contentment within yourself that we both seem to be searching for. Idk how old you are but you look young, you have so much life to live and so much time to find yourself and find what makes you happy. We just have to try to stay positive and find the beauty in the simple things. So much easier said than done I totally understand but please don’t hurt yourself anymore, idk you but I’m sure you’re probably a really sweet person with an amazing heart who has plenty of people who you mean the world to. I know I’m just some random dude on RU-vid but you can message me and talk anytime, we don’t even know each other so you can really let it all out. Life can be overwhelming at times even when things are going good there are going to be ups and downs we just have to work on keeping our minds and energy positive as best we can. Life’s hard it’s not easy in todays society I’m 32 and still trying to find my direction and happiness in life and I have no idea what happiness and contentment even looks like for me. Sorry I’m rambling on but please don’t hurt yourself and please learn to love yourself and find your happiness because you genuinely are beautiful, don’t let that negative voice in your head tell you any different. You deserve a good happy life, you’re important and you matter in this world. Keep your head up bud ✊🏻

I literally just found your channel (thanks to the youtube algorithm) and i have never felt more relaxed and comfortable, i really think this is the best asmr ive ever heard. Im also extremely sorry for your losses but i admire your approach for dealing with grief.I think everyone should be able to take that approach.I want to say thank you for this, truly this is really helping me and im sure it will help me in the future on numerous occasions. the way you talk about grief and loss is very meaningful. It reminds me of something I read once that stuck with me: “People think that grief slowly gets smaller with time. Jeannie, you may not see this but I felt compelled to write this anyway. I watched another one of your videos and you reminded so much of how my grandmother used to talk to me- Warmly. With love. Since I wrote that comment about 2.5 weeks ago, I've watched this video EVERY night. I suffer from clinical depression and there are days, many of them, that are HARD. Where I catastrophise everything, where I'm so low I don't think it can get worse, where intrusive thoughts make my brain run at a million miles per hour. Yet, there's just something about this video, very specifically the "I want you to know the flowers are out there, even when you're in the weeds." just makes me zoom out for a second and pause. It's comforting. It's calming. But most importantly, when I'm laying in bed at night, when my brain won't stop and I can't get out of my own head- It just helps to change my way of thinking. I guess what I'm saying, in short, is that I'm very grateful for this video and for you. Your videos help people in a very real way and I wanted to make sure you knew how this one helped me. Thank you again.

I really appreciate this message. It rings of so much authenticity and that is so admirable. If you see my "Favorite Things" video, you'll catch a glimpse of the coyote I rescued. She was a broken thing on the side of the road...in the weeds. I wrapped her up and took her to a wildlife rescue center and let everyone know - her name was Flower! She was truly a flower in the weeds! (A video is coming on that soon!) I'm glad you can glean little kernels of encouragement in the videos. Truly - this makes ME grateful. We all stumble, fall, live in a dark space at times, etc. but you can rise again and go into the light! I know it! Warm hugs to you, Jeannie

I can completely relate to visceral triggers as a young child, especially recognizing your example of the cellophane crinkles on books read to us, the sounds of pages turning, as well as the smell of books. I still experience these triggers to this current day. I so enjoy your channel!

I also remember going to my higher self when I lost a sister, then a brother at young ages. I was determined to celebrate those souls as a tribute to them. I wanted them and memories of them to remain as positives in the universe, untarnished by me or my despair.

Genuinely can’t underestimate how much I appreciate this perspective. Been stuck in a lot of ways lately (negative thinking patterns, consuming stuff I don’t truly enjoy, etc), but also frightened and unmotivated to change things. I’ve a long road ahead, but this gave me the motivation to sign up for an activity I knew I’d enjoy but was scared to try, and that’s surely a start. Thank you!😇💗

Hi there, Casey. I think the thing to remember is that we ALL go through periods of having no motivation. Any little thing that moves you forward is good. Also, we all have a long road…until it runs out. You’re exactly where you need to be to learn what you need to learn. And scary is ok! Life CAN be scary. But you’ve got this! You’re absolutely lovely! I’m listening as my baby daughter is napping on me. I’m a new mom, constantly in awe at the love I’m experiencing, followed by the terror of anything bad happening to her. I know life is for learning and growing and we must face our challenges with gratitude, but I must say, I cannot fathom losing a child. God bless you. It’s amazing how painful life can be sometimes and I agree that gratitude and conscious effort towards a positive attitude is essential. Still, it’s hard to imagine surviving something so tragic, but you are an inspiration to us all. ♡

Your voice is so soothing! As for ASMR, I knew I loved it when people would be whispering or speaking softly around me. I wouldn't even be in the conversation, but I would be so relaxed! And I loved watching Bob Ross. He was the OG of this lifestyle! Like you said, we didn't know what it was; we just know we were relaxed. Thank you for your videos; I enjoy them!
