I have been hunting for the past 50 years and I still get the same rush and feeling of freedom when I'm out in the bush, It's all about what leads up to the time you squeeze that trigger, spending time reloading and finding that load and projectile that your rifle likes, all the mistakes you make and learn from whilst in the field, the early mornings, the countless k's in the car, the bad weather, sitting on the side of a hill just glassing the valley floor, finding a well used wallow for the first time, following a rub line that leads to some bedding grounds and then seeing that Stag or Hind, controlling your breathing and taking a well placed shot, then sharing your story with others back at camp or a BBQ with the meat you have supplied yourself, free range venison, provided and processed by yourself. It's more than a hobby, for me It's a passion. It is so gratifying to see other's share that same patience and passion that I will continue to have until my final day.Keep up that great work and to everyone out there, 'May the wind always be in your favour'.
"We get our good times natural." Is there a better one line summary of a true hunter anywhere? I love seeing real Aussie hunters getting excited about harvesting great meat, in an ethical and responsible way. Outstanding.
Great hunt and result mate! You embody everything a modern hunter should aspire to...hunters often don’t do themselves any favours with the anti hunting crowd by posting pics of bloodied animals and hunting with no fair chase! I have hunted 63 species across two continents and I have a deep rooted respect for my quarry and eat what I shoot...for me a two week trip in the bush with no animal to show for my efforts is still a success in my book...I learn each time I go out and am a better man for it....Fucking great video Buddy...keep it up...good luck on your next trip! Stay safe and hunt hard...#organicfreerangevenison the only way to do it...
I have been chasing my first red buck for over two years now, When i get disheartened i just watch your video again and feel your excitement which reignites my passion to get out there and crack on. You sir are an inspiration and i thank you.
Been watching a few of your videos and have to say you sound like a top bloke. Down to earth and a positive attitude towards the sport. Still waiting for the roar to happen. It's late this year I'm hunting reds in the lockyer valley and still waiting for that cold snap. Good luck
Just watching vids to get me pumped for 2020 rut. This hunt is literally similar to my first red stag, practicing roaring at home and calling one in is an unforgettable experience, the emotional roller coaster simply can't be explained. Well done keep em coming
Wow that was intense, I mean you, lot of passion there man. What a narly rack, crowns, twisted unicorn up the middle, mass, 5X5 herd buck. I don't know where you are, and if you can use a device, but I use a compact bluetooth speaker, and I've got some good calls off youtube, one old stag came in so close I recorded his roar and played it back, which drove him crazy. Good to see you eat that scapper, those legs will need some spice, stock, and slow and low. Real happy for you bloke, that head deserves mounting.
that moment when you declare "look at those hectic bloody tines" rofl. well done man congratulations. I hope you continue to upload as I really enjoy this channel.
Mate love this old one! As a bowhunter, you're the only youtube guy i watch that shoots a rifle. Love ya vids, keep em coming and don't change brother 🤙
Outstanding work here Profty. Mate, the views you expressed at the end of the clip regarding the 'Age of Entitlement' really struck a chord with me. Hunting and the outdoor lifestyle is a fantastic way to educate young folk on the need to listen, learn, respect and persist. Implement these four key things into your life and success will follow. Something which you have proven through this and many of your previous videos. Continue setting a fine example legend.
Respect! love the channel, the honesty and the passion! If all hunters come across like you the anti groups would have little to attack! keep up the good work!
You put in the hard yards, and what a result! Your enthusiasm is infectious - I cant wait to get myself sorted and get amongst it. Well done. Great vid. 👍
“Oh! I’ve got BEERS! I’m going to have a beer!” 😂 that had me laughing out loud mate. You hook in and enjoy those beers, you definitely earned it. Great video Profty.
Im watching this years after the fact, but I just shot my first spiker a week ago. I watched and learned a lot about the hunt from you r videos, since no one around her wants to show mw how, I taught myself, with your help ( and others) Anyway I just wanted to say that I felt exactly the way you did then, and I am sure still do! What a rush to finally get one, and I got the whole animal out and back home to butcher. Thanks for the effort you put in to making these videos, from the West Coast NZ
So stoked to read that man, and so glad your getting the best out of paradise. I miss west coast nz big time, when I’m able I’ll be back at Haast chasing chammy in the hills and keen to have a solid whitebait trip at Jackson’s bay
@@AussieBushHarvest Id be honoured to spend some time with you when you do come over, so please give me a call or message if you're coming out, id like to host you for some of your trip.
Awesome hunt man. I couldn't agree more about freedom in the woods. I also get some weird "therapy" from the strategy mindset when you are hunting. Taking in information from the land, making decisions on ambush locations, or even deciding when to leave. It feels like it taps into the same part of me that wished he was a native american or a special forces guy as a child.
Love your videos mate. When you first said that the pages of you magazine were stuck together I ummed and ahhhed but when I saw your excitement after shooting that stag I understand. Much appreciation for the ongoing videos and keep them coming.
the look on your face the emotion ,ive been there amazing i had help from great mates to get mine so getting a stag like this solo is an awesome achievement.well done mate.
An Inspirational vid mate. Those words at the end..... --- Spot on. We need to Participate in Nature and in doing so, unwittingly help ourselves and others. ( as you have, Profty). Thanks.
"Look, I've calmed down a bit"... that gave me a laugh. I was worried you were going to pop a foofle valve there for a minute :) Congrats on a great hunt, and on public land to boot. A big thumbs up from me.
Good video mate. Never been hunting for deer so i am watching videos to learn once i get out there. Great to see that passion. Inspired. Keep them coming. Cheers.
Fucken legend Profty. So happy for you and what an awesome one of a kind kind head. Don’t forget you’re also a public land owner, not just a public land hunter 👌🏻
Hey Alexander awesome work dude. Watching your video's has lit a fire under my ass and made me keen as ever I love your work brother keep up the good fight.
Mate new to the hunting game and have loved your videos, been educational and inspiration. I can see the passion you have for hunting and the Aussie bush! Keep it up!
Absolutely Brother for me its exactly the same its the freedom of being one with nature doing what is instinctive of us as the animals in the food chain that we are its getting back to our roots its that sense of accomplishment that we are able to provide fresh free range meat for the family. Its not about the kill its the journey that's the thing that keeps us doing what we love.
congratulations mate hope ya mount it ,, you deserve it and so does the stag,, i know it's hard to get all the meat but you should ,, you owe to the animal and yourself but again well done on the hard yards 10 years is a long time to wait for this to happen,,, cheers !!!
Hey Profty was excited when I saw you had posted a video , Wow what a stag ! im stuck at work but felt like I was there. Awesome effort. Cant wait to get out myself . Cheers to you.
Worst case scenario, in this turbulent world, if the shit does hit the fan, won’t it feel good to know you’ve got what it takes to survive. Best case scenario, well, your already there brother! Love ya work 👍👍
Love your passion, stag season is over in tassie , I goes for a piss weak 5 weeks a year but I was lucky enough to bag my first fallow stag , I can relate to how you feel , keep to good vids coming 👍
Well done Profty, if any one deserved it you did, what a great stag and such a great nontypical head, I know where your coming from with your take on life brother , its been my philosophy for may years, once again congrats for a great stag , and thanks for sharing the journey.
