Sometimes I find myself helping my local skydiving operation out by flying whatever they need to get people their dose of smiles and adrenaline.
I made this video to highlight some of the communications, although I hit a switch early in the day that ended up cutting out the incoming radio calls. So you mostly just have to settle for my annoying voice blathering out all my calls. This is just a few cuts from inside the 206 of a fairly short 14 load day.
I particularly enjoy flying single engine Cessnas for whatever reason so I try and make it just as much fun for me.
If you're a pilot, I'd encourage you to stop in and talk to your local dropzone, if there's one nearby. It's helpful when everyone has a better understanding of what that little parachute symbol on the map (that apparently no one ever looks at anymore) actually represents.
My free helpful tip of the day:
DO NOT USE AN AIRPORT USED FOR SKYDIVING AS A VFR WAYPOINT WITHOUT FLIGHT FOLLOWING OR LISTENING AND TALKING ON CTAF
(if you do, just give it a few miles berth at least!)
Also, if you're still reading this, USE THE RADIO. It might just save your life!
Have fun, fly safe my friends!
