I've been doing the solo raids as a new player and watching this series basically along side my own experiences and it has been super fun. Watching Mark suffer in clown G3 and brel G4 made my own suffering in those gates much tolerable. I've been waiting for each new release and can't wait for Akkan - I just cleared it the other night before reset and it was def an experience. Love this series and love the format!
Congrats on the Akkan clear, g3 is a much harder dps check then I initially thought it would and proved to be the hardest struggle for Mark thus far in regards to optimizing damage. Working on the video now but its long.....
One thing i would liketo see is IF it would be a potentially good idea to get him to watch or review WITH YOU the new new player guide that stoopz release yesturday and maybe have a new player checking this out and having a experienced one answering him instantly would probably been a best possible review !
Since Brel difficulty has been a major topic, heck half the playerbase left after Brel. They should have just introduce a third mode, call it casual or "progression" or whatever and have it on normal mode ilvl, giving less rewards. I mean they kinda did now with Solo raids but that should have been a multiplayer experience and it should have been done a year ago. Difficulty level should even be clearable by just pressing "matchmaking". Enrage timer like 2x as long, no wipe mechs, no insta fall damage, and especially no mechs that a single player can fkk up and kill the whole group + give 3 revives like back in Argos. Then the people struggling could have done this mode, also remove progression being locked behind hard mode and ESPECIALLY hard mode materials like legendary elixirs. Casual and normal mode already unlocks everything, you just get less rewards and progress slower than others doing hard mode. That would also stop the stupid bus culture .
This is something I've been saying since Vykas. LA needs to adopt the FFXIV raid difficulty designations, where "normal" is clearable for a group of brand new blind players in a couple pulls, then with much harder variations with better rewards. "Normal" in this case gives casual players a way to progress without getting gatekept, as well as an introduction to the raid as the harder versions just add mechanics on top of what was in the normal version.
Keep up the good work , looking forward to the series. I hope your friend can also run on another DPS class. On a side note unrelated to game play : AGS decide to increase the gold from solo raid, but make it 100% non-tradable, which is not a great move imo, since later player needs tradable gold to gear up , so they force to do life skill and chaos gate now, anyway.
@@jrzlzlife skill is depending a lot on bots. and I also dont buy the argument that player needs to do life skil and chaos gate to even have tradable gold in a raid focus game. AGS can give less tradable gold like 7/3 or 8/2 bound to tradable ratio but 100% bound is a pretty bad move tbh.
New raids have to also have a solo mode so players can choose to group or solo. It helps them learn mechs/patterns. Otherwise, players do solo then are thrown into gatekeeping with card, roster, etc.
i don't necessarily think the newest raid needs it, but when it gets pushed into not the newest i think it should. The first month of a new raid is utter chaos and there is something sadistic that I find enjoyable as the community learns the raid. New players getting to ilevel a month or two late without title then are shafted, and I think they should have the option to learn it in solo with greatly reduced gold to have a chance of moving up into pugs. obviously sourcing a LFG prog lobby would be more ideal because of the reduced gold and maybe matts, but for those unable to, this solo option would be great and not so despair for them to the point that they want to drop the game. Eventually this would move into the 80% bound tier that we see, but this inbetween is a happy middle ground I think.
Just restarted playing, had about a thousand hours before. My personal feeling upon returning is there is just too many side systems for me to be aware of. Gems, tripods, bracers, engravings, skill builds, it was a very overwhelming experience, even for a returning veteran of the game. What to dismantle what to keep, one thousand chests to open. Lost Ark combat though is fantastic, and am looking forward to doing my first solo raid later today.
alot of it is easier now with fleshed out resources like Maxroll and the Lost Ark Nexus. I do have an accessory guide that kind of goes over alot of basics, but the Nexus has a better written version if you don't prefer my voice and more in depth per class. If you have any questions let me know, I will answer as quickly as I can! Good luck on your raid!
I think the opposite. I purposedly did the raids completely blind and I must say figuring out mechs like that is genuinely fun, but that might be just me
@@IntoTheCrawlspace hell clown would actually be the real lost ark experience tho. If he can get mayhem shadow he will be ready to tacle any pug content.
@@Azena_LOA I dont think most experienced players would ever get shadow if they tried. Most need 2-3 weeks just to clear if they are not carried, and if they dont they give up.
@@ilias-4252 exactly the raid teaches perseverance. I don't expect the Mokoko to clear it in months and couple more for deathless. If he can get that then he will be able to complete any future raid.
@@IntoTheCrawlspace so let’s just say I never truly played the game at all but I bought it on release (founders pack) I had a bezerker got too busy irl, then they released like the boost servers or something a couple months ago, tried to hop in with a slayer but was super lost and discouraged cause folks basically said “no friends, no play” I’m hearing about solo raids so I’m like maybe I can play that!
@yusef917 oh nice! There is currently a super juiced ignite server live as of two days ago that is meant for anyone new or returning to get started with the game and get catapulted to the end game. There are about 7 solo raids currently and will be more current raids added sooner than later. I would highly recommend logging into the ignite server and picking a class. Every class you pick is hyper expressed and will allow you to delete and remake any character you want. So you can test them all out. I would also go to lostark.nexus for some new player guides to get you caught up with the many systems. Don’t expect to fully understand the game in a few days, there’s a lot of systems at play that can be overwhelming so just take it slow. I can help with anything you’d like, but probably start with is there any character you’re interested in playing specifically? Maybe stick with zerk? Maybe try something flashier?
@@IntoTheCrawlspace i want to feel like a super saiyan like I enjoy power and impact feeling strong and cycling through skills that have that power yk? I'm thinking I might make another slayer im not sure
@yusef917 do you know of the Breaker class? Brawl King Storm has giga amounts of punching power in two punches and its other spec asura becomes like machine gun of fists with a toggle shield. I would 100% take a look at that class, I have a video made in May dedicated to its one spec if you want or there is plenty of highlights of the class as it’s very popular. If this intrigues you let me know
Mark is gonna be fine with G2 Voldis, G1 and G2 are Kayangel G1 and G2 difficulty on ilevel, but he's gonna loathe G3 mirror countering on GL holy shit xD
@@IntoTheCrawlspace Yeah I'm a returner with even less prior exp than Mark and my first G3 session on mayhem berserker was a 45 min struggle before I went to bed, completed mirror a couple times and it's so stressful. Maybe if I go with stagger runes I can bruteforce mirror mech with only 2 counters, we'll see when I go in again later.
funny enough, that gate is super stressful running with friends because if you're chatting the number counting goes out the window, even sketchier at 60 bar mech too aha
Nah… ive tried lost ark over and over but i dont find these bosses any fun, im quiting as i always do, i want to play to have fun with some challange but these raids and bosses mechanics are worst than souls-like bosses
I think most lost Ark players forget how much ground work we have established from playing the game since launch. Lots of current bosses patterns are variations from previous ones so we have muscle memory to avoid and get damage in those moments even though they are fresh experiences. It’s a hard game for a new player to hop right into with where it pushes you up to, so it’s understandable why a new player might hate the fights as they feel overly complex and vets will contest they are easy but forget all the baseline they have built up. I mentioned this but I think the game currently needs an easier mode for raids specifically for new players. Solo raids are objectively easy too me, but someone unfamiliar with the mechanics and systems in the game goes through 10+ minute pulls to wipe at the end and that’s just debilitating. I think an easier mode that has wipes being less harsh or even just a full removal of them for the new player base to start getting these fundamental building blocks to where they can feel comfortable like we vets do is necessary for the game to grow a bit and not keep losing players like yourself
finally quit the game, too much stuff to learn. game is so complex, you need 2 year degree to get it. Takes forever to nail down solo raid as well, it takes many hours just to get one raid down not to mention other parts of the game.
Uhmm I'm a brand new player of about 2 weeks now, used voltis skip, hit 1580 today with express, learned all 4 of the solo raids before 1580 and the abyss dungeon. It doesn't need a degree, it requires willingness to learn, pressing a few buttons and using your eyes in coordination with your mouse or controller. Which is literally any game ever.
I have to agree with the new guy, I’ve not played in awhile stopped just before voids, but I’m Coming back soon 😄😄, it’s not that hard I’ve not played solo but I’ve done them in groups on a ti scrapper and they was fine, so Ye Skill Issue.
I cant tell you how much I still suffer vs Valtan. This garbage fell off mechanic is driving me crazy. In general all this excessive mechanics are boring as fuck. Hearing people praising raids so much I simply cant agree. Some of them I dont even wanna try.
Valtan holds a lot of nostalgia, and its a raid that when the veil of its patterns and mechs is lifted and you know its ins and outs, its really fun to push damage on your character. But I can see it not holding a candle of appeal now when its outdated by 200 ilevel and doesn't really hold a gold incentive.
solo raid but with lots of wipe mechanics here and there plus the rewards just dogshit. In short, solo raid not even worth it and this is by far a top tier garbage game by SG & AGS.
@@JunkyVR Those top tier garbage people play for gold since its the essence to properly further enhance your character, unlock ilv etc and access new content, If you play merely for "fun", in the next 2 months, while other people having fun doing new content, you'd either probably still doing same old content solo with ghost and struggling at most took you 1-3 days to clear just 1 raid or already move on to new game simply because you're stuck with your dogshit low level char, gems etc. This the reality of this garbage game.
