My perspective on Thomas is not just that he had doubts, but that he also fully understood his Apostolic calling and knew that he could not truly be a Special Witness of Christ based on faith in what his fellow Apostles told him. He had to physically experience the Savior to be able to function in his sacred calling. Thomas gets a bad rap in history, in my opinion, because he sought the higher blessing of perfect knowledge. I believe what we call doubt was actually a much greater understanding of the gospel and Thomas is one of my heroes of the original Twelve. He didn't give in to the peer pressure of just going along with the other Eleven Apostles. He held out for greater light and knowledge so he could be a powerful witness of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

This is probably been my favorite day. It completely just changed how I am viewing Christ’s response to Thomas. He doubted because we all doubt at times but there was hope and Christ affirmed that for him by appearing. Thomas wasn’t forgetter! Thanks for that connection.

I'm reminded of a repetitive message in this last conference. "Prayers are always answered whether it's now, later, or in the afterlife they are always answered." I firmly believe this and always have.

I think it was a lesson for us to learn more so than for Thomas. He wanted to have that witness and we need to have that witness but we won't be able to have it the same way he did. Jesus said blessed are those that believe and not see. That would be us. We have a witness without seeing and we are more blessed because of our faith in not seeing.

After watching these 6 beautiful lessons I decided that I am going to do theses traditions every year. I went to Hobby Lobby & Wal-Mart to purchase the items for my floral that will come out every year, along with other decorations to remind us of the gift of life, eternal life. I woke this Saturday morning with the impression to share snippets of the last 6 days of what I have learned along side with my testimony to my family and friends who lave stepped off the Straight & Narrow path. I look forward to Easter Sunday’s message. 💐

Thank you for these wonderful videos. I got up this morning at 5.20am to watch the sun rise from my bedroom window. When I went to bed earlier I couldn't go to sleep as was excited. Was still awake at 3am! The birds were singing and the sky was lovely at 5.30am. Thank you for sharing this tradition that I hope to continue 😊

Easter lilies are my favourite flower, well that and Lilacs. I find myself in a time where hope is scarce in my soul (nothing to do with the pandemic). How lovely it is to learn that the Easter lily is the flower of hope. I'm just going to buy me a bunch of Hope 💗 Thank you guys

Thanks so much. Just to clarify, it would have been the next Sunday that Christ appeared to Thomas because the Jews counted the current Sunday as day 1, so the following Sunday would have been 8 days later. Same as Christ being in the tomb 3 days, counting the Friday he was put in there. :)

What interesting thoughts! Thanks for giving me new perspective. Side note: I believe the Jews in biblical times counted any piece of a day simply as "a day." (Folks from Latin America still count days this way). So when Christ was dead from Friday night to Sunday morning (only about 36 hours) they counted it as 3 days-- Friday, Saturday, and Sunday-- rather than a day and a half, like we would. When he showed up on a Sunday and then again "8 days later," they are counting that first Sunday as the first day and then 7 more days lands them on the next Sunday. In Spanish, people often say "in 8 days" or "in 15 days" which means in 1 week or 2 weeks, because they are including 'today' as part of the count.

I noticed that you have printed out on a card what each day is. Do you share those somewhere that we could print out! Our family did this last year and it was such a good experience. We are excited to do it again this year!

@LDSLiving Please could you tell me what the music is playing in the background? Sound Hound couldn’t figure it out. It’s so pretty though, I want to hear all of it over and over! Purdy please, will you share the name of it?

Maybe he didn’t get to experience the miracle the first time because he wasn’t where he could’ve been in the first place :)
