Why could they touch hands? Well, there is a thing called the Leidenfrost Effect, where a layer of water close to an extremely hot surface will boil so quickly it forms a protective layer of steam, actually insulating the rest of the water from the heat.

I actually had the privilege to meet the director of this movie in person at my college two months ago. He told me a lot behind the scenes details and mentioned how much this film meant to him. Great guy and great reaction 👍

Just watching the Making Of video on Disney+ has made me feel some kind of connection with this movie. I didn’t think I was gonna enjoy it THIS much when I put it on for my toddler.

I think it's a beautiful representation of consent. They could seriously hurt each other but with love and respect they make it work with small adjustments for each other. I love it so much.

Its amazing. Minorities can immediately relate to the movie seeing discrimination or racisim all over. But people outside of a minority groups don't see it. I literally had to explain those parts to my mom

The storm was most likely a metaphor for war. They probably couldve shown it better or explained it better. Love that Disney and Pixar has traumatized audiences so much that we automatically assume both parents can survive. There are some that do but they sooooo rare. Lol!! Loved the reaction cant wait to see what you react to next.

Since you asked at one point, there was a scrapped ending where they come back to element city after some time away and they have a steam baby. Don't think too hard about how, it's just neat. 😂

If we ever get a sequel of sorts (most likely bet is a miniseries or shorts) I wouldn’t be surprised if they use that scrapped ending in it. I do think we’ll see more, there’s just way too much potential not to further explore.

Renaming the parents when entering Element city is actually not too far off from reality, a friend from school and her family is from India and they had to change even their last name cuz her real last name wasn’t registered in the us system or some stupid shit
