+AllOffroad.com.au and heaps less psi
@AlloffroadAu
@AlloffroadAu 8 лет назад
+Jordan McHugh indeed, as mentioned on the day I would start with 15PSI, but it seems like the Patrol steelies pop a bead quite easily

What tyre pressure was the patrol running in the end? Looks like he could have dropped another 5psi at least
@AlloffroadAu
@AlloffroadAu 8 лет назад
+kingkazik I think at the end Pavlo was running 20 psi, my recommended tyre pressure for him was 15PSI. The Patrol steel rims seem to have issues with popping a bead I know a few guys with Patrols who won't go low because of that reason

Out of all the fellas on Australian RU-vid that short defender is by far the most capable

Hi Stefan! Just wondering, what is the advantage/purpose of running the radiator in the back?
@AlloffroadAu
@AlloffroadAu 8 лет назад
+josieladybird no issues with it getting clogged up with mud

Awesome vid, well done! Just some advice on tyre pressures with 37's and bead locks from my personal experiences... I run 12psi in the rear tyres and 14psi in the front. Reason for the difference in pressure from front to rear is I want to maintain some steering feel in the front. The 2psi difference works for me. I hope that helps... But play around with the pressures and you will find out what works for you and tiny. Again, well done on the purchase.
@AlloffroadAu
@AlloffroadAu 8 лет назад
+rpmwrx hi, I usually run it the other way around slightly higher in the back as on steep uphill sections weight on rear tyres/axle etc increases quite a bit. 12-14 PSI sounds good that was around what I had in mind for next trip. Used to run 15 on 35" with KM2 and 13 with Simex
@rpmwrx

+AllOffroad.com.au I run bias ply sticky Treps on harder trips and need higher pressures in the front to maintain steering feel. If you've driven on Treps before then you'd understand my logic, but I can certainly understand where your coming from. A set of Treps will look killer on Tiny :)
@AlloffroadAu
@AlloffroadAu 8 лет назад
+rpmwrx Treps are actually my next planed tyres :-) how do you go with them driving to the wheeling spots, how long do they last you?
@rpmwrx
@rpmwrx 8 лет назад
+AllOffroad.com.au You should get a few years out of a set, but to be honest I don't really care because the benefits offroad far out way the replacement costs. Treps are physically a very heavy tyre and because of the insane level of grip, you need to be wary of the likelihood of increased driveline breakages. I don't know how strong the portals are, but it's also something else to consider.

How are the 3.0 TD Patrol's??? I know they are prone to burning out engines but how are they as a daily cruiser and weekend warrior???
@AlloffroadAu
@AlloffroadAu 8 лет назад
I would not buy a 3l, but otherwise I think it's a good touring truck (with the 4.2 engin) they are big though and in my opinion need at least a 4" lift and 35" as the approach and departure angle is pretty average. They also need crawler gears as otherwise the gear is not suited for 35" and low range work and will burn out clutches quickly
