He was my all-time favorite player and would follow YCO games during the MICAA years. I even bought photos of him in the bilao along Recto! I remember listening with my transistor radio at the back of my high school class just to catch his games. Thank God, I never got caught by my teacher . . . hahaha. Thank you for this feature on Mike Bilbao. It was such a delight to see him again and listen to his perspective of baloncesto.☺🥰
True npakaguapo sya infact di sya mukang pinoy, for me isa sa gusto kong npanuod dto sa show nyo mga idols, why? very humble at low profile walang kahangin hangin,BUT his accent is spanish pa,kc mrami kong npuntahan na spanish countries as a retired seafarer, parehong pareho silang mgsalita ng mga spanol, perhaps origin nya is somewhere sa bansa ntin.mabuhay kayo idols tuloy nya yan.
Idol ko yan mike kc nkalaban ko na rin c mike, abe king at dave noong nsa san beda pa cla.. c mike kc pag nag dribol nka tau lng cya pag nkakita ng konting puang biglang lumulusot ang blis kya nyang guard.
Animo Yco! Animo Tanduay! Long time Yco Tanduay fan here, even before R. Fernández era. I grew up a fan of Yco and later on Tanduay team and I clearly remember, I'm the only fan in my elementary class with literally all my classmates are for Crispa and Toyota. The likes of the ff F Webb R Canent M. Bilbao E Tolentino Egay Gomez J Cleofas M Samson J Taguines B Delos Santos D Supnet... Then later on, J Manansala Dela Rosa Castillo E Capacio (older brother) R. Lázaro V Sanchez G. Capacio A Gutierrez JB Yango.
Mike Bilbao. One of the most handsome man in MICAA and PBA. YCO painters has the most handsome players in MICAA like Bilbao, Renato Reyes, Freedie Webb, Ed Ocampo, Renee Cannent, Elias Tolentino, Egay Gomez plus coach Carlos Loyzaga.
Most great players are with Yco before, aside from mentioned players below, others were Freddie Webb, Eddie Pacheco, later sonny Reyes, Edgardo Roque group, players Art Trajano, Robert Jaworski, Joy Cleofas, Marte Samson, Supnet, botchoc de los Santos, Jimmy Manansala
I remember Mike Bilbao as a very sharp point guard - good ball distribution, fleet footed, nimble with his dribble, leech-like defense, sharp steals, and decent mid-range shooting. He was a finesse player like Larry Mumar.
Hello Mike Bilbao! I’ve wondered how and where you are. Remember me? I was the sales manager from Mantrade where you bought a Nissan in the early nineties I think it was. We used to chat a lot about our days as LaSalle varsity players (I played football). My best regards to you and hope to reconnect with you. AN1MO! 💚🏹
Hello, sir Mike. Are you the same one who's the president and broker of IBIS universal real state? I saw a picture and name of yours in a Filipino grocery in Milpitas CA. When I was young and watched a MICAA game on TV I remember you were playing for Yco.
