R.I.P Paul O’Grady. Thanks for all the laughter over the years and for your compassion towards animals, you will be truly missed. Definitely gone way too soon😢😢😢
Sheer genius! Quick witted, talented and with an exquisite delivery. RIP Lily - you were & will always be a true one off & you will forever shine brightly 🌟💔
Paul was the funniest, most caring person this planet could have ever been blessed with. Thanks for all the charity work and laughs over the years, you will be missed x
So many gems from him during that performance! I loved his joke about how he'd be "worrying sheep" by showing his latest electricity bill to them and they'd be like, "Ohhh, how you gonna pay that, Lil?!" 🤣The delivery is quality. Daft, but so funny! 🤣
It makes me want to cry for some weird reason, when they sung i know him so well like it made me think how good he was gonna be in panto this year in annie
I used to foster dogs for Battersea and will never forget Paul coming to my house to name some puppies I was looking after, watched this when I was younger never knowing lily would be in my lounge years later
I grew up watching paul, but since he denied to come on Uk drag race I have become interested in lily, because ru paul is awful for the queer community and I am glad to see someone stood up to the transphobe.
Thank you soooo much for posting this. I've never forgotten that final song ' A Lamp Post Attached to My Mac'..and never found it till now. What a genius he was back then. And we were still yet to find out what a truly kind hearted and beautiful human being he was. The world is a much sadder place without Paul now. You will be missed more than you'll ever know because you were loved more than you ever knew. Rest easy now Paul xxx
Paul, thank you for sharing your craft, all your charity work, the wonderful memories and laughs. You were one of a kind and will never be forgotten, RIP
I’d forgotten just how funny he was . Such a talent , I’ve been in tears watching these old shows .,he was wonderful as Lily and as himself ❤ he’ll be so missed
So sad about Paul's passing. I was lucky to see Lily live many times before he became famous. He's left a great legacy of comedy, there won't be another like him.
With oyt ANY tv adds 😮I only hope In the weeks to coms we can have at least a 3 hour show with lily + Paul Ogrady without.the adds sheer BLISS RIP our very own Paul o Grady ❤❤❤
The character is so well formed and believable you can almost forget it's Paul O'Grady underneath all the makeup, still just as funny after all these years as well
Absolutely adored Paul/Lily if you have never read her books 📚 please do they are the funniest I have read, and all about her life, so true and heartwarming. Fly high with the Angels Paul, keep them laughing in heaven. Xx
Love Paul O’Grady - such a kind man who does so much charity work for dogs. I live on the Isle of Skye too - born here, lives here all my 43 years and have raised my 3 kids here. They’ve all left home now and one is down in middle England. It’s true that it’s always pissing down but I love it. It’d be amazing if I ever saw Paul up here - I’d give him a massive hug to thank him for all he does for charity and his kindness. He’s a truly wonderful person 👍🏻❤️🏴
I met Paul in the 80s, he came to a club I worked in and did his Lily savage act, great guy(did you know he used to be a social worker back in the day)
Amazing. I had forgotten how good Lilly was. I loved the last song about being attached to a lamp post!!!! All the celebs looked so young (especially Robbie) but then looking at the date it was 27yrs ago.
Lily Savage you could serious watch this artist at work all day never get tired, you would never be fed up all it will lead to is a constant stream of tears from all the laughing you do. The talents of Paul O’Grady will never be seen again and I hope wherever you are now Paul/Lily you are enjoying yourself, you’re gone but definitely not forgotten. Rock it up there with Cilla and Barbara
OMG...the duet with Barbara Dixon...I had tears running down my face. What an amazing performer Lily was .....lots of the younger American Queens in Drag Race could learn a lot from her.
How? Lily Savage is not a drag queen. Its a character a fully created character that at no points refers to being a man a neither do guests because Lily Savage is a woman
@@tarync6539 you mean like all drag performers ever never references they’re a cock in a frock. Lily Savage is a dick in a dress, it’s a man playing a female character, Paul O’Grady doesn’t need to acknowledge that in every performance cos everyone knows when a man cosplays as a woman ? 🤔
I'm very sad I never went back and appreciated Lily after I grew to love drag. 10 minutes in and I'm crying laughing what a truly great comic and advocate of animal rights you will be missed
Remember seeing Lily when he still played the bars in the early 90s and appeared at some of those great Pride events. Suddenly his career took off with some live shows, TV appears and his career really took off. A real talent
Frightening to see how young people are! I remember Paul in about 1993 in a pub and forget how many years ago it is! Just feel very thrilled about how much he has achieved since then. Really superb performer as "Lily" but a genuinely clever and decent chap.
I used to watch Lily Savage as a child and cackle with laughter, I didn't get most of the jokes back then but he's just so funny naturally, he could read a menu and it'd have made me laugh. It's a treat to go back and watch Lily. RIP Paul, I'm shocked and saddened by his death 😥💖
Being in Australia l had never seen Lily Savage but did see Paul in the love of dogs this last year. Yes he was a great performer. I love watching all his skits. RIP and my condolences to his family and friends.
R.I.P Paul O' Grady i was lucky enough to see you twice in the pantomime (Cinderella and Goldilocks) at the London Palladium! You and Julian Clary were absolutely hysterical and you both had me and my mum in stitches! I feel so lucky that i saw you and i adored you and Malcolm on your radio 2 show (with you shouting at your beloved dogs to behave!) and i will miss you so much. I was in tears when i heard the news at 4 in the morning. You deserved to live until 100 and you should have been knighted. Thanks for all you did for the animals too.
First time I have seen this performer. I am from the other side of the pond - American and I have enjoyed this immensely. It’s wonderful seeing all the stars in the audience. We were all younger back then.
went to school with paul , and we both went to live in london about the same time . i remember him starting the lili act in the vauxhall tavern , and elephant and castle pub .
Skippy the Bush Kangaroo as Norma Desmond is genius. Also, that last song. The surreal stuff was just as brilliant as the ‘anecdotes’. I missed Lily Savage when she was retired, and we’ll miss Paul O’Grady even more. Such a loss. Rest easy Paul.
God bless Lily and Rupaul and Danny LaRue. All the artists that helped me through ruff times with laughter. Your contribution will always be with us. ❤❤
Never met him, but felt this one. I remember watching this when it was first televised. Sitting here now, watching it again, laughing out loud. So sad that we will never see him again. Cheered when he did the duet with Barbara Dickson.I really think it was a surprise to her (what a trouper). RIP ❤
