I was there opening night. VIP, dead center front of stage. I’ve been to many concerts. They blew it up, one of the best shows I’ve ever seen. Klaus was just great, he ain’t 25 anymore but he was awesome. The production (lights and sounds) were among the best I’ve ever seen. This was an A+ show, period.
It amazes me how good Klaus Meine voice still is after all these years. I'm amazed at how he sounds and his range. I understand about the 1st night but still he is awesome.
I was there😊. Great show. Lost count how many times I have seen them. I was so excited, and felt so fortunate to be there. I think they felt the same way. 5 songs from the new album, which I think is great. No, we cannot go back to the 80's. Don't think I could keep up with that either. Still glad after 50 years, they are still playing, and I am still listening.❤️ Skid Row will never be the same, but Erik rocked it for only being hired days before!!!
Erik is a phenomenal singer, he knows he's got huge shoes to fill, and the majority of the people just wanna talk crap about him not being Sebas. Check out his previous band H.E.A.T. he also won Swedish Idol where he auditioned with a Skid Row song to get in.... hence his "Rockstar Movie" reference LOL. I wish Skid Row the best with Erik.
@@Firedog7677 yes, I heard that about him🙂, and his recent recovery from an illness. I was able to sit in the audience for the Eddie Trunk podcast. Pretty cool to be there for his first night!!
The age was showing in them, but the music is still electrifying!! The singing was awesome, new songs are good. The drum solo just kicked ass, no other way to describe it. Get the chance and your a Scorpion 🦂 fan, go!! They rocked to the house!! I really enjoyed the entire concert. Not a Skid Row fan but they were good.
I was there opening night as well. I thought Klaus’s voice was amazing. He didn’t move around like the guy from Skid Row, but I do think it was really hot in there and considering what he was wearing and then add all the lights on them. I would say overall their stamina exceeded my expectations given the fact that some of them are in their 70’s. I really liked it!
It was a great show.. I hope the review didn't come off like it wasn't... Scorpions at their worst are better then most bands at their best.. I'm gonna check the show out again and see if it's any better. Glad u enjoyed it 🤘
They were AWESOME. Who cares if he didnt run around? The band was great. The new tunes - especially Rock Believer and Seventh Sun were great. BTW - was told the AC was broken down. The sound mix was spot on. They looked to be genuinely having fun to boot - they looked as happy to be there as we were watching them.
Saw them March 30th, first time seeing them. One of my ‘must see before I kick-the-bucket’ (or they do) bands. I thought it was fantastic. I hope I can move and play like Rudolph When I’m that age. I didn’t know much about the drummer but best solo I’ve seen in a long time. And I didn’t expect much from Skid Row but was very surprised. They sounded great and were a great opener.
Klaus is 73 years old. Even when I saw them a few years ago, he wasn't moving nearly like he used to. I am sure he has to pace himself. I would like to have his energy when I am at his age in a few years.
Sad part, is Sebastian was in the building for the Rock N Roll fantasy camp with Rudolf and Mathias..... I saw them on night 2, 3/30. I like Skid Row. Regarding Scorpions..... Rudolph and Klaus are 73 years old. I'm just glad I got to see them one more time. I traveled 2200 miles for that show, and I don't regret it any.
You are reviewing their show and don't know what their new sings are vs their old? Klaus sounded great as did the rest of the band! I was there opening night. Waiting for this concert was well worth it! They were not off! Their new songs debuted and were really good! Check out their show! ❤Scorpions and we are Rock Believers! P.S.-Delicate Dance and Coast to Coast include incredible solos that blew me away!🎸🎶🎵 Drummer, Mikkey D, is so good! His solo was supreme!
They really hate Bach esp Sabo and they just can’t move on from it. We’ve all learned to accept Skid row without SB and SB as a solo act. Saw the Scorpions this year. Age had def caught up with him but he still rips thru the songs like a beast. Thanks for the review!
He is 73! He is not going to run around like a youthful Klause. I loved it. Yes Gas in the tank, peacemaker, seventh sun are all new songs as well as rock believer. Again Klause is 73 as is Rudolph Shencker! I was there the first night and yes it was freaking hot! Kinks? The sound was amazing!! They aren’t going to have the energy they had in the 70’s and 80’s. I give them a ten for still performing at an incredibly high level!! Also the drummer is Mikky Dee formerly of Motörhead. His drum solo was amazing not just great. The new songs are all great in my opinion. I would go every night of their residency in Vegas if I could but hey I’m a 80’s music junkie. Scorpions is one of the all time great bands with Klause Maine still sounding great. If you’re a fan I’m sure you will love the show!
Front Row VIP Friday night April 1...I can't wait!!! My son is 22 and so it is his second Scorps show (my 7th or so) and his first Vegas trip...WOOT! Let's ROCK!!!
I saw the Scorpions first time in 1976 in my school. Last time in 2006. Klaus lives 20 km from me, Rudolf 5 km. I Was once in Vegas in 1990, I married there - waschen ZZTOP. I love Sebastian and saw Skid Row with Moetley Crüe in Frankfurt way back 1990 something. But I must say, everything you commented, is like I thought, it was like this. I can truely imagine. I saw some Songs from the Vegas concerts and you made a very good comment withvall the Respekt the Scorps deserve. Thx Man.
I was there for last night’s show. Agree about the Skid Row lead singer, but he did seem to hit the high notes you mentioned him missing. Overall they were ok but I was definitely into it anyway. As for the Scorps, they killed it. I’ve never seen them live, but I won’t even say ‘well their old, so’…:because they didn’t seem old. As for Klaus, he stood still because they set up a lyric feeder in front of him for some of the songs, which makes sense considering. He sounded amazing!
Klaus is 73 years old. Not bad for an older guy. I think they were at their peak in 2017. They have so many songs to choose from. They can't all be like there Blackout album but good comments / I can tell that you really love them. So do millions around the world. By the way Rudolph is also 73 and Matias is 67 so good for them to still be rocking. Cheers, KL
3:25 “He”? I’m sure you mean Klaus Meine! His voice is like Bon Scott with AC/DC. He can’t hit the high notes that he used to, but still unique and cannot be replaced. You’re right; action/movement on the stage keeps us engaged. Let’s see how we move when we’re 74. First time I saw the scorpions was 1980, Oakland CA - Animal Magnetism. I passed a cop going 90mph on the way to the concert. 😲 They opened for Ted Nugent and I thought they absolutely blew him away! I’ve seen them four times including US ‘83. I keep looking for the full recording of them at that concert.
Totally stoked to be there on the 16th! I've been a Scorps geek since the 70s. Have Golden Circle pit left (Rudolph be still my heart) PLUS MEET n Greet! Skid Row..I'll reserve judgement. Funny that Sabastians birthday was opening night. Sad.
Interesting review. Unfortunately I won't be seeing them in Vegas, being based in the UK, but hope to see them at some point in the future, particularly as I think the new album is great, and would like to hear some of the songs played live. But I thought Klaus was struggling a bit on their last tour, which was over two years ago, and he is not getting any younger. Still a good job for someone in their mid seventies, but the days of human pyramids, microphone swinging and crazy ballet moves are clearly long gone.
My first show ever, Scorpions and Winger Irvine Meadows 1988. They have a place in my heart. The production looked great, Klaus needed reverb, but the band was tight.
Thanks for the review. I've got tickets for next Sunday night. I can't wait. I love their new songs, and the setlist looks solid, if maybe shorter than I wish. But, I have to remember they are in their 70s. How were your seats? I think we are on the front right pit area.
Wife and I were at this show. Originally booked everything when Queensryche was supposed to open, and would much rather have seen them than Skid Row. I agree, that Skid Row sounded like a solid cover band…and also agree that it was hotter than satan’s armpit in the theater for most of the show. I loved the Scorpions performance though. Yeah, it wasn’t 80s energy…but I have to cut them a little slack. Klaus is turning 74 in May, and I thought he still sounded really good. The new album is solid. Rock Believer is a good cut, but I couldn’t believe how good Seventh Sun was live…just loved it. I sat through Skid Row, but my ass never hit my seat after the Scorps started. Thought it showed some class when they thanked us for holding onto our tickets through the COVID delay too. Anyway, so glad I finally got to see these guys live. I was to the point of regretting not selling a kidney back in the 80s to score the cash for the Monsters of Rock event…but now that I got to see them…I’m happy to still have all of my organs intact.
The thing is Klaus and the band are only starting back out after a nearly 3 year hiatus (before Covid) so like many others they are not gig ready. And that’s a thing. I expect after a couple of months on the road and playing most nights a week they’ll improve. Plus,Klaus is 74 years old next month. Like what do people expect? My hat is off for him and the band and can’t wait to see them in Spain (with Whitesnake & Europe) in June 🤘 btw, I love the new album, some killer songs on there
I wasn't in the neighborhood so all I've seen of the Vegas residency was RU-vid videos from fans who were there. The only kink I did notice from watching at home in Philly (it might've been the first night and other random nights, I wasn't paying attention to the dates so don't remember) is he missed the "dark and lonely night" verse from the new 'Wind of Change', and instead sang "listen to my heart" twice. Though, that's likely because it's new words to get used to and Klaus has done it the old way for so many years. This isn't really a complaint or anything but just something I noticed and it threw me off. Maybe later in the tour all the kinks will be worked out, I know they haven't done a show for ages because of Covid. Metal/Hard Rock isn't really my thing but Klaus really does have a good voice, and that is what drew me to them in the first place. As for the show being off, I couldn't really say because I wasn't there, though it makes sense age would play a part in how much a performer can move on stage. In fact my mom is 74 but she's not in a band. Either way I'm interested to hear if you managed to see it again before the end of the residency on April 16th.
going to see them here in Cyprus. lets hope there rocking and hot when they get here. guessing your right there just getting back too it but a bad scorpion you still have to look out it as a sting in its tail all the best NashDrift
Good Review, I was there, and it was hot. Overall the show was good, totally agree with most of your comments. Was bummed as others no Still Lovin you. While most people liked all the Solo's I could have done with that. Would have preferred them to use that time to do Still Lovin you, always somewhere etc. Overall good show and worth the VIP ticket price
Thank you for the review. The Scorps are my all time favorite band! I have tickets to the 4/9 show. Not sure I'm gonna be able to make it to Vegas though :-(
@@hugomorganti4761 Me too.... that was the first scorpions song I heard as an 10 year old while walking on the street in Oruro Bolivia, and it was playing in a shop. It stopped me right there.... Been a fan since.
Saw them in Vegas ;last week. GREAT. Klaus Meine's voice is in GREAT shape. Matthias Jabs was fantastic. If I could say one thing that wasn't perfect (to me) - I thought Rudolf playing a V-shaped acoustic guitar was a bit much. (Just play a nice acoustic for IT"S fine sound. No need for a V acoustic IMHO.) Everything else was perfect and delightful.
wonder if klaus wanted it warm. helps the voice....I saw van halen in 2012 and dave thru a fit 2/3 thru the show. went off on the arena saying he didn''t want the AC blasting on him and they then rushed thru the last 6 songs without a word to the audience. and left. no encore. we were cheated out of 3 or 4 songs looking at other setlists from that tour
He s better than sebastian...... I heard him........even Sebastian c ant sound like his studio work, but the new guy does it with ease.....he is better
