I believe that's Willie G. (left) at 23:19 with his father William H. Davidson. If that's 1974, then the photo shows G.'s gradual transition from his previous clean shaven straight persona to full beard mode of a year or so later. Probably didn't want to freak his dad out too quickly, lol. Those were exciting times.

I love this bike, really wish HD never stopped making singles, Buell Blast and Aermacchi bikes aside as a 500cc single can be a lot of fun especially with it’s naturally smaller wheelbase compared to a V-Twin. TY for this fantastic video and looking forward to the follow-up video on it. Wishing you many years of safe and fun riding 👍🏻

Truly a BADASS machine. Thank you Matt Walksler for making these videos. The finer details of thick-walled (and webbed) racing cases. Always appreciate the notes on what oil line goes where. Can’t wait to see the technical specs; bore, stroke, and CR. You’re one of the luckiest ducks to play with these pieces of OLD AMERICAN IRON!! Rev it up and since it’s too risky to race it, run it up on a dyno, see how good ol Joe Petrali’s engineering was...

Great Museum addition! But from the CAC top and SA bottom and hearing that the bike was "restored" around 1974, I wonder if this job is something of a nicely done parts bike? I ask because some of the early Harley-Davidson collection bikes are notorious for being pieced together with various year parts. This has led to controversy among collectors and restorers because many presume that everything Harley-Davidson has or touches must be 100% original and/or correct. I hope Matt keeps an open mind about this bike when they dig deeper into it and then tells us what he finds.
