For new Dancers watching, Flourish will no longer overwrite the procs other than Fan Dance 3, so feel free to press Flourish on cooldown. Essentially, main combos now proc Silken Flow/Symmetry, while Flourish now procs Flourishing Symmetry, so they can now coexist.
Nice work. Really like the guides, the way you present them and length. Fun to watch. Even for classes I have no interest in playing. :) Wouldn't mind seeing you expand into other guides! Keep it up.
I'm not able to juggle more than my dragoon and dark knight (both of which I learned how to better play thanks to your guides), but I wanted to drop some support! Great vid, Megastar!
alot of jobs are pretty simple, especially melee and ranged, Dancer is probably the most complicated as it relies on procs and such, I'm told Ninja is tricky, but honestly after 9 years, it seems basic to me.
Thank you, this guide was very helpful. I like to set up my full ability bars thru max level (even the locked abilities) as soon as I start a job, and your explanation of the abilities by category was perfect for this.
lol wow. ive been leveling dancer and just now realized i was missing single target fan dance this entire time. i always thought it was weird that the feathers only proc'd an aoe XD
Thanks a lot for this guide! Tho I wonder if you read comments on your old videos, i just wanted to highlight that some of us noobs could actually over level in the middle of heavensward and unlocked Dancer before Shadowbringers. Yes I am one of those noobs. As such would really appreciate if you could mention if there are any spoilers in your intro or background. Love your videos. I have picked up Black mage and Astro so far and I visit your videos once I get overloaded infos from other beginner guides. Your videos actually help in identifying skills and flow better for some reason.
thank you so much! i just started dancer and was confused why my standard step only uses 2 dance instead of 4. Didn't know later on we would learn technical step that uses all 4
Thank for this guide. Dancer is most confusing job in this game imo. Your has millions of skill at the one time mechanic of it is so complex Also it has no in depth in-game tutorial for it too. Not even The Smith can help you on this one.
Wanted to say thanks so much for these guides! They're detailed enough without going overboard with time and explanations. Most FF14 Job guides are 45 minutes to an hour, and have a friggin thesis of info for literally every ability. Guides like this one help for ppl with short attention spans like me! So thanks for the videos!
These videos are not only fun to watch, but informative and not overloading. It definitely helps others understand how every class wants to function/play. Just spammed all of your videos for fun!
Thank you for this! I just got Dancer and was about to look up 'dumbass's guide to DNC'. Now I understand (vaguely) what all the glowy shit means and why I should use them.
Just wanted to say your "Idoiot's Guides" are SUPER helpful. Simple and to the point, and easy to understand. This one in particular made me decide to pick up Dancer so I could finish up EW Role quests. ...Thank you so much for all of these!
I look forward to these videos as someone who is getting back into FFXIV! Quick and fun guides, can't wait to see the Bard one!! Keep up the great work :)
oh.... I've been running around for ages using all abilities except the steps, because I didn't know they did anything except look fancy.... because it's only standard finish that actually explains that it gives damage and such. whoops??
Why do you call the job "Dance Partner" when that's not what it's called, it's what it DOES, which can be confusing for new players. Instead you should say, "Use Close Position to select a 'dance partner'..." so it's not confusing, even if you do show the skill icon.
Bless your soul for real, I just picked up dancer last night and was so confused cause I was thinking I'd start from lvl 1 and make my way back up, but no, they just toss you in there at lvl 60 and I was floundering. Re-watched your video 3x and I feel much better going into this class! Thank you!
Tillana is such a odd ability...refreshes the damage buff when the buff never has a chance to fall since you use Standard Step whenever it's off cd..personally I use Tillana immediately cuz there is no point sitting on it
I'm using the whole set of Valentione Forget-me-not from the cash store! The glasses are the Classic Spectacles. Edit: Using Emperor's New Gloves for hands
Standard Finish (the end combo of Standard Step) also does quite a bit more damage than your other Dancer skills so using it on cooldown is an increase in damage.
