I think he was definitely coming from a place of personal hair damage due to that style... Like he felt because you used to be hair twins you both would have follicle trouble.... This is also an example of what I think of as 'community wellbeing advice' ... A particularly Chinese behavior of telling people to lose weight or change a style the speaker feels is damaging their image, completely because they are concerned about the person and mean them well. But I agree with you... The style does suit you...
