I married a Kiwi. In the 26 years we were together I got the full monte of Maori culture and tradition. This is taught to every schoolchild in NZ from an early age. They are the gold standard for racial integration and tolerance. We went to a work dinner here in Sydney and there were a number of NZ staff who had flown for for the conference. At the end of the mains, the women all got up on the dinner tables and did the Hoki Mi. It was truly amazing. You have to be near it to feel the message from the beautiful polynesian music and words. Their whole population is less than that of Sydney, but they punch way above their weight in every respect.
A couple of the young lads look like they have been in a Haka video a few years back when they challenged the older boys in their school. The younger ones had a lot of passion and energy back then too, they out did their challengers.
