BE SURE TO WATCH HANA'S PART HERE: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Slg-lwF23hU.html I cannot thank them enough for all their help in this project. Getting to meet and talk to Alex Hirsch was a dream come true and one I will never, EVER forget. I hope you all enjoy what we've both created here and managed to ask him. Long Live Gravity Falls!!
Hey @ThatGFFan, you and @HanaHyperfixatea did a really great job with this video, but can you please make a comment like list that helps translate all the cryptograms in this video (if it’s not too much). Also, can you name what type of cryptograms you used for each? But seriously, keep up the good work, and congrats on both of you for meeting Alex and giving us this interview!
The implicaton that Stan just straight-up didn't know Dipper's real name is interesting. You'd think he would know the twins and their parents well enough to have heard it at least once.
Idk I always assumed that Stan avoided the family as best he reasonably could so they wouldnt be able to see thru his disguise and start asking about ford
@@matti.8465 In the reference we have to that event (which Hana shows in the video), he was fighting Shermie *so he could keep holding the twins*. So that's one of the few things we know about that event; he did hold them.
I really appreciate Alex's love of the characters and yet he has, in recent years, let the fandom breathe. "What's canon? Whatever the most fun for you." "Is X true? It is now!" "I'm reading way too far into this! Good for you, I hope it's fun!" and I love that energy.
4:45 "if you make this cut way gags their lizards brains will like the show" He fooled the producers into believing they were making another Family Guy but for kids
I love how I projected this image that Alex Hirsch was this "logic and reason" guy when in reality he's the "emotion and feelings" guy and cares to have a "continuity and chronology" guy to balance it all out
Shermie the entire time had his own life he was dealing with and being much older than the twins, there was a gap between them which made him barely present in the twins lives. He’s distant towards Stan and Ford but he was just caught in his own business at the time which made it difficult for him to connect.
I’m glad that Alex doesn’t let the fans have a say in the make-up of the story. The story is amazing as it is. We did not need any more or any less. It is how it is. If anyone is frustrated about any part, that is on them. It was an interested video anyway. Thank you
I didnt expect the question about Bill and Ford during the portal years to be asked!!!! Ive been wondering that for so long!!! AAAAA THE FINAL ART AT THE END?? ugh im already so insane about Ford + Icarus this will make me so much worse
55:59 book of Bill reference????? I'm pretty sure he knew he was making it at this point, he might mention something that completely skrews up the timeline so then hana can make a new one.
25:10 "it was hard writing Tales of Two Stans because we wanted to write 1 million stories of them both" You had my interest buy now you also have my undisputed attention AND my money
If I could've asked him anything, it'd probably be about Filbrick Pines and his connections to the Royal Order of the Holy Mackerel and if they actually do worship the Axolotl.
@@Bee-ht6nc Well, Journal 3 mentions that the Fez and all the Holy Mackerel stuff belong to Filbrick, but the secret commentary track from the DVD box set is where Stan outright mentions/alludes to it.
Personally I think Don't Dimension It was helpful because it wasn't solely Mabel's fault, but she has her own growing up to do herself that I don't think was fully shown in the show. They started it and had a bit of it in Mabel land, but I feel there should be a little more for her that basically didn't get in the show just because of time. It's not a story that puts on the blame on Mabel to me, but one that helps her mature and be aware of her own weaknesses.
Agreed, and I think the girls focus on that and also telling Alex the show could have done more with girls or Wendy was really out of line. Mabel was a main character and had several episodes focused on her.
yes!!! Mabel hype!! I agree, she has the least to learn because she is already pure of heart. most of the issues people have with her are slightly overblown.
I love Alex, but it's true that Mabel is the least developed character, and character who NEEDS development the most, because she's the main character alongside with Dipper.
@@Rayni_XZ.oYeah I definitely didn't agree with him on that. Also this whole "HA EAT SHIT MABEL HATERS" is just not my cup of tea. Because it kinda separates the Fandom. Like if you think Mabel isn't perfect in every way shape or form you're a Mabel hater. But I also don't agree with people that shit on Mabel as if she was the anti christ herself. Mabel is a good character but heavily flawed (despite what Alex says) for one she has MASSIVE abandoning issues which is not healthy for her or her relationships. I mean the other character we know that has abandoning issues is stan with his brother when they were younger. And look what happened to Stan and his relationship with his parents and brother.
To hear the first question being about how Alex got Gravity Falls greenlit as a future screenwriter who is writing a career paper about it in school right now. Inspiring. I absolutely love Gravity Falls and Alex Hirsch's work so much!! Made my childhood
This whole interview was gold, Grandpa Shermie, Stan in Colombia, the artbook, funny facts, Kristen Schall, etc. amazing! It is a treasure!! So much fun, can't wait to see more!
52:16 translates to: YOUR GRAVITY FALLS HEAD CANON IS VALID! Edit: There's more!! 59:37 translates to: LIZARD STAN FOR PRESIDENT! (He already is...) 1:03:30 translates to: fuck disney as always! (Real)
I am very happy that you added subtitles to the video, I am from Turkey and I wanted to watch the interview very much, but I knew I could not watch it because it was in English, thank you.
That was SO sweet! 🥰 Alex is always so kind in interviews! Loved the questions you asked and thank you so much for finally putting the Shermie question to rest!! Cant wait for the Book of Bill to come out, now i'm even more hyped!
I just watched both interviews, and it was awesome! Hearing Alex Hirsch swearing is hilarious. I really wished we had more information on what happened to his Netflix show. Either way, I really enjoyed it, and I hope you get to interview Alex Hirsch again sometime in the near future. Keep up the good work! 👍 👍 👍 😃 😃 😃
"Don't worry, all the aliens have been dead for millions of years....probably!" Perfect example of Ford's main character flaw, although I don't think flaw would necessary be the right word.
genuinely baffled that i'm in such a place in my life that the first 10 seconds of a video can, without audio, almost bring me to tears so stoked for this
With any other show id be like "eh, its just a show" whether i like it or not, but gravity falls is a show ive found myself hyperfixating on time and time again and feel passionate in. Its a comfort show for me and im always willing to rewatch it. One thing I've been really hyperfixating on especially is an au I'm working on Also I REALLY HOPE HE MAKES A BOOK, SOMETHING ABOUT THEIR ADVENTURES ON THE OCEAN 😭 ford's my fav character (alongside dipper and bill) so to see him more often I'd die I'd love to ask questions about gravity falls to alex, i have so many(especially like, how the multiverse works/how did ford go from dimension to dimension, in the multiverse what would the dimensions look like in the nightmare realm, what were the bubbles of pure madness, etc.) Because even with the info we already have there's still little known about the multiverse, the nightmare realm more specifically Id also love to ask him questions so i can have my au be as accurate as i could despite it being noncannon(trying to get character personalities accurate is especially an issue for me)
Just finished your video, and wow! All three of you sounded like you had a absolute blast talking. I'll just say from all of us fans: Thank you for sharing this with all of us, it truly is a groundbreaking achievement and a blessing for both of you to meet Alex and to get so many answers revealed! (hope the artbook gets made after book of bill becomes a bestseller)
This was so good oh my god! The little Ford drawing at the end was so cute ofmduajgsiabsj you guys are like at the HIGHEST tier of fans oh my god congrats!!
listening to the fans and creators enthusiasm of the show and their different points of view of it was so heartwarming. I could help but smile through out this entire thing lol this is great 👍
If I could ask Alex about anything in the show I would probably ask him about the aliens, were they atteacted to GF because of the weirdness magnetism law or did the natural weirdness magnetism law only come into effect after they crash landed? And furthermore, I would ask him about the natural weirdness magnetism law and how it came into existence.
you know i relisten to this like third time, cuz i feel like it's just such a rich and fun and cute conversation, and both of you are (just literally me) so hyped up in a way that makes me smile, and alex seems so sweet and genuine, and it's like just three people who holds a lot of love for the show, talking about the show. it's pure seratonin for me, keep up the good work
*Fantastic* job, you guys! Holy cow, that was amazing. I still have yet to watch Hana's video (ANOTHER HOUR'S WORTH!), that'll be tomorrow. And then I'm gonna have to relisten to this and read the transcript just to absorb some of it. But THANK YOU both of you for your work on this, and all the time you waited so patiently to get it out. And huge thanks to Alex for taking the time and being so kind and thoughtful. ... Don't think we didn't see those codes flash up! Some more mysteries yet to be revealed, huh?
I wonder if Alex has played Pacific Drive because it feels like if Gravity Falls was a road trip through the Zone from the Stalker series. It feels like an adventure Dipper would get rolled into when he's older.
Overall thoughts: I felt the interview was full of development and production story with a mix of headcanons for fun (mainly for Stans) than confirming groundbreaking headcanons. Not so groundbreaking, so don't expect that. But you'll learn lots of interesting things if you're looking for various type of insights of creators; developments, productions, adaptations, and such. If you want to create something faithful to Alex's insights and want to learn what kind of person he is, this is for you!
I’m so happy to see that you both had such an amazing opportunity to talk with alex, and ask him questions the fandom has been wanting to know for a long time. seeing you be such an active person in the GF community and playing a huge roll in it, we wouldn’t couldnt ask for anyone else for it to be. I remember having my GF fan account back in 2018-2020 you were always so kind and welcoming to the newcomers and devastated to see them go. you really do care for this show and the people who make up the fanbase and I thank you for that HK! you deserve this!❤️
I realize yall didn't ask a lot of bill questions but one because the book of bill 👀 also its so good to learn who the baby is and the copier machine!!
The Labyrinth episode would have worked. American Dad did an episode referencing it called Game Night. I saw it before I saw Labyrinth and it was a fun episode.
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS LETS GO, I'm so happy that you were able to make this happen GF fan, same thing goes to Hana, I really hope you guys have bonded with Alex, and I hope that you enjoy your break, you absolutely deserve it dude, congrats on finally getting it done EDIT: THIS DESERVES WAY MORE VIEWS
genuinely this video was awesome, i loved seeing the bit at the end where you guys talked about how it felt and it was just so real and refreshing. i really, really hope i could interview the author of this book series i’ve been theorizing about someday, and knowing you and hana bonded over this experience and your love for gravity falls is so heartwarming and something i wish to have someday too :) thank you so much for this awesome video!!
OMG, this was so beautiful, I'm a bit in tears now, especially thanks to you being so happy in the end :') Thank you for doing this interview! *And thank you Alex!* (if you ever read this XD) for doing the interview with them you are such an amazing person and inspiration for me ^^ (And talking about Missingno, I once made myself a Halloween costume of Missigno :'D It was funny cause it was a box and I could barley see anything and when we were walking around the houses I was talking to a friend of mine and I was talking and talking and she didn't say anything, so I was like: "Alicia, are you still there?" and she said; "Yeah!" I said: "Oh good, I can't see to the sides XD" and we both laught :'D That was such a funny Halloween, but it was also hilarious that a lot of people didn't recognize my costume and some were like: "Are you a cookie package?" or something like that XD I really like Missigno, too (and I knew you are/were a Pokemon fan ever since I've seen your "Pokemon in a Minute" video, which is hilarious!
I've been looking forward to this interview since I first heard about it and you and Hana really killed it!!! Excited to see more from both of you! Just curious, how many codes in total did you put in? Wanna make sure I got them all! Edit: I missed two apparently. Has anyone figured out the quote, the one starting with QGRITTEF, or the one starting with EQT yet? I don’t want the answers only the ciphers.
Just a Colombian viewer correcting that in Rapid Fire Question 1 it is written ColOmbia with an O, not like the NY district, it is written on a wall, it was a fun and very interesting interview otherwise but that triggered me. But misexecuting a bribe makes so much sense, because police here are basically looking for bribes, they even set up scenarios to get bribes and if Stan managed to mess that up somehow yeah it would land him in jail.
I FINALLY HAVE TIME TO WATCH HTIS OKAY WOOOOO GRAVITY FALLS LET'S GO AAAAAAAAAAA Edit: Poor Ford, I love him but that's so painfully true, I love it so much ;v;
