Steve McKee took me as an intern when I was a budding (hehe) first year botanist in college. I spent an entire summer botanizing bogs, fens and other wetlands around Ohio with him. He noticed my strange interest in grasses, rushes and sedges and bought me my first identification guide specifically for them. I sincerely appreciate his influence in my life.
I worked with Steve from 1981 as a volunteer to 2016 when i retired as a part time staff member. Steve made a major impact on my life during those 35 years. I learned the majority of my outdoor nature observation and teaching skills from Steve. His method is a wonderful example of the way children and adults can love learning! Thank you Steve for this lesson!
Spent many many years visiting Gorman Nature Center. My dad, Brad Weaver, had a huge love for this place. I remember Steve from over the years.... Miss this great place of my childhood ❤️❤️
I took my grandkids many years to the Mom and kids and remember how wonderful Steve was in his programs. So glad I got to share nature with them when living in Ohio. They are now 25 and 22 and remember all the fun and learning they did here.
