A very insightful interview of Brother David Steindl-Rast by Nikos Hadjicostis and Jane Kayantas. More of a conversation, a meeting perhaps, of thoughts, rather than an interview, much was discussed and much was revealed, in an atmosphere of trust and sharing. Through his questions, we learn as much about Hadjicostis as we do about Brother David through his answers, which are based on a lifetime of thought, reflection, study, and of love.

Brother David having doubts? How shocking, yet in a weird way how inspiring too. He is human like the rest of us. He lets us know that when we have doubts its just part of the human experience. I really enjoyed the conversation.

What a beautiful interview! Nicos's love for Br. David comes through even as he asks difficult philosophical questions. Truly an intimate conversation. So happy to see how mentally sharp Br. David still is at this advanced age, and how he didn't miss a beat. All answers to the point and very deep. Thank you Nicos, Jane, and of course, Br. David.

A gentle, thoughtful dialog that foregrounds the universal themes of spirituality, rather than parochial doctrines that make it feel like one has to choose their team and argue with all the others! Brother David's perspectives are like a loving, warm embrace from an old friend.

Grateful for the video and it’s content. Happy to see Br. David sharing his sharp thoughts and understanding with us. May he overcome his fear of suffocating and live a long healthy life of sharing and giving clarity to the mystery!!

The man interviewing Brother David is using too many words. Brother David in his answers is using the right amount of words; that is, why I remained listening.

Everyone is on a different level of spiritual development...If i may be so bold to say this: It is a lesson for you to realize this...and it is a lesson for me to understand why you said this...Thankyou 🕊

This is a precious treasure that I will save in the playlist of , "Pieces of My preferred religion." 😊 "I can remember wanting an answer to my ??? At the age of 5 and 9 and at 10 I knew that I would have to create my own religion with tthoughts thatb I. Resonated deeply with. As a 10 yr old resonating wasnt part of my vocabary, I simply knew when ideas were worth thinking about. The only thing I had in my playlist then was the fact that there were two different kinds of things man made things and things made by Mother Nature so I felt very comfortable and when I prayed I was supposed to pray to God but I would actually pray to God and mother nature because I thought that she was much more prolific woth her interaction with earth beings. Not some great mysterious power. Another "earlyentry " thing valuable enough for the playlist that was staring at the sun could MAKE me sneeze!!! Iwas very well awate that the was nothing or no one in my life or imagination that could make me do anything. So I'd found proof of something and it seemed like a good important idea. When I stared earnestly into my eyes looking for God refusing to let myself fail at the task of looking directly into my eyes because I figured that it might not happen immediately but it was important enough that I really really pay attention and so after about 10 minutes of staring into my own eyes looking for God in the mirror I suddenly realized that I was me in the mirror looking out at my little self sitting on the floor in the hallway. That was a fabulous experience, and when it happened my initial response was was excitement over the novelty of the of the the shape-shifting or whatever it's called becoming becoming the eyes in the mirror not even the whole face but just the eyes and the mirror looking out at me. This is so lovely, a treasure!! When I focus on the things I love and encourage others to do the same I am living in a heart warming Renaissance like earrth😂

Christ’s reference to Psalm 22 is indeed a lesson to us, but it doesn't mean that it’s normal to doubt God .His lesson is to trust God even when you think He’s abandoned you. The lesson is that God is faithful and trustworthy, with endless love.

How can one say that we 'cannot know our Creator' when in the Gospel of John chapter 14 verse 8/9 Jesus said: 'Whoever has seen me, has seen God'...? and that our Creator has '99 names' when in the Biblebook Exodus Chapter 3 verses 14/15 God clearly states His/Her Name...? 🌞

The European Union is not 100% a succes story. Imagine that for instance the city of Brasil is choosen to be what Brussels is in the EU. These politicians in Brasil are getting everytime more and more power, because everytime they start to decide more and more things in all those South American countries. Maybe someday to the point that your own government has little power and nothing more to say. I would like to know what happens to the identity and culture that makes every country so unique. What happens to your free will, when the government in Brasil decides something that is not helpfull for rhe people in Argentina? No todo lo que brilla es oro 😊
