I took my new gravel bike out to Chiang Mai, Thailand, for 4 weeks not having any real idea what to expect and though I spent most of my time on the roads, when I did venture onto the trails, I discovered beautiful tracks to ride on.
Pedalling through the deep jungle on trails wide and narrow, I quickly came to realise that I have to go back there with a tent and all the kit and spend a week or two 'lost' in the jungle there. Fortunately these trails are actually listed as roads on Google Maps and Strava, so as long as you map out the rides you can be sure to stay on your designated route.
Also, you never feel too lost as there are a few hill tribe villages along the routes which invariably have coffee shops nestled away in huts with great views (see previous video in the link below).
This is a very incomplete guide to the gravel scene there, but I thoroughly recommend getting out there for a cycling trip for some really rewarding riding!
