An island that's only accessible during low tide? Count me in! Minister's Island is located by St. Andrew's, New Brunswick and is a Provincial and National Historic Site. When the tide goes out, a sandbar appears, allowing visitors to drive right across the ocean floor to explore the island.
Home to 4 distinct groups of people - the Passamaquoddy Indigeneous Peoples, John Hanson & family, Reverend Samuel Andrews, and it's most notable inhabitant, Sir William Van Horne. He was the president of the Canadian National Railway and built his summer home on the island, plus a circular bathhouse, a large barn, and more. Check out the video to see what Minister's Island is all about!
