Will this cute wittle kitty EVER be free of problems? I mean really. First he is dropped from a car in the middle of a busy road. Then he is almost run over in that road. Then he gets his leg caught in a fence for a period time. Then he has to have that leg amputated because it got caught. This cat needs to live a problem free life from now on. In regards to his new face scratcher, part of the reason he likes it is because he knows it via scent. It;s part of the same fence he used to climb in the past.
You are an amazing cat mom! To think you got those cats by accident or without even looking for them... baffles my mind. You are obv made for eachother!
Satisfying to watch! I'm always a little worried they'll harm themselves, though, when the surface is particularly rough or sharp, which it seems like this broken fence is borderline. 😬
I will never forget that video of one of those furless cats that had cancer in both his eyes and had yo be removed so now the sockets are covered with flesh and saw his owner stick their finger deep inside his eye socket and kept scratching it. It was oddly satisfying for some reason
In a couple of previous videos, Skidmark had his leg caught in a fence. They gave him a few antibiotics to help the pain, but a couple days later, his leg got seriously infected, which led to the amputation. He's doing good so far, but I worry about poor Skids.
Amanda is close, but a little off. He did get caught in a fence, and did have to take antibiotics, but it was the loss of blood flow to his leg after being crushed that finally caused it to be amputated.
Get a PEOPLE hair brush with the little plastic balls on the ends of the bristles. Bring it home, take it out of the bag in front of the Cat. Say, "Itchy Brush for YOU". And touch it to the side of his mouth. He should have the reflex of running his whiskers hard on the brush. Again say "itchy brush for Skids" :o) Do it enough times and he'll start leading you to the brush. Keep it down at his level so he can communicate effectively to you. In my house it's "TV and a Brush", she runs right over to the easy chair for a Brushin' :o) Cats understand the words. You must teach them, then they will know. Mine does "the Benny", like Jack Benny....doesn't look Directly At the topic...usually the food plate ("Tibble"...as she knows it ...), that's her signal..
Actually, he is no scratching it because he would be itchy, he is scratching it because he marks his territory with pheromones. :) Good job anyway for providing him with all the love and care. :)
