An Mhaighdean Mhara🧜🏻‍♀️ is the first Sean-nós song I ever learned as a kid! Though it is from Donegal, my dialect is not. (Well, towards the end my fadas get a little relaxed maybe😅) With this being St. Patrick’s Day week, Irish-American Heritage Month, Women’s History Month, and Seachtain na Gaeilge-the annual festival of celebrating the Irish language-The Mermaid felt like the perfect song to share.🇮🇪
P.S. Like my Sherpa chair and @anthropologie Sherpa vest? I recorded this on the first day in my new, freezing apartment back in February. It’s a wonder you can’t see my breath!🥶
