Not all Oakland lifts are in Next stores! This lift was abandoned by Next when they relocated to a bigger store just a few doors down. The new owners of the shop have kept the lift, but not without a few changes...

Very Nice Lift. NEXT in Bedford Kempston is another example of moving units. The Unit NEXT was at is now a Matalan.

When I was last in London, I went to the Horniman Museum, where the main lift is a Cotswold, but for all intents and purposes is an Oakland, as the design is basically the same. Even has the iconic "dee-doo".

Obviously would've been one though, since it's in the Next like interior, not trying to sound like Mr smartypants rocket scientist, but just pointing out, but that is interesting! Good to see another upload from you! Some Willos do have Oakland's as a non former Next, especially near me there was a Next which turned into a What! store but it's closed down now. Great video! :)

for the most part i don't find oaklands particularly interesting (there is some exceptions to that of course), but the setup of the announcements when it opens has intrigued me. i'm assuming that only happened when wilko moved in and when it was next it did what you always hear on a standard install like this one. wonder what prompted the change to be made

So they removed the "dee-doo".....the one thing that actually makes an Oakland interesting. That is sad.
