AN OG KPOP STAN'S POV- (G)I-DLE "Allergy" M/V 

(G)I-DLE often remind me of 2NE1. In the best way possible. Their songs are always interesting, and often funny. The amount of talent in I-DLE is off the charts.

Yeah, Allergy hit me closer to home that most songs have. I'm not even that big on social media, but it's just message of constantly comparing yourself to others when real you is just fine. I think a lot of people can relate to that. I also liked that while this is largely Soyeon's story, the other members have their own similar struggles as well, all the while they are secretly envying each other. (Minnie being alone despite being popular, and wants to be Miyeon, who is a social influencer. So she dates Miyeon's ex so she can have a little something of her, but in the end she really doesn't love him and still feels lonely. Miyeon, likewise, wants to be Minnie who is more popular than her, which only seems to send the point home when she's suddenly dating her ex. Lastly Yuqi and Shuhua portray themselves as the 'it-girls' but they are really just copying the American girls around them. Their popularity is just a front and in reality it's just them. Shuhua at one point ditches Yuqi to hang out with them. These are all the people Soyeon wants to be, but they are just as sad and alone as she is.... Or at least that what I got out of the storyline.)

I love that at the end of queencard she included "i feel allergy" - soyeon days she doesn't just feel pretty and sexy but also feels the things she talks about in this song.

As a Soyeon-ult, it made me sad to watch this, knowing how much she got dragged on Produce 101 for her appearance. She said this was one of the most personal songs she's ever written. The scene where she runs away from the plastic surgery cost, opens the door, and she imagines Minnie and hesitates... 😭💔

This song is a masterpiece and also queencard the best comeback ❤ they are Literally the queencard of 4th gen

I just want to mention that g-idle is on the girls side but that man can kind of relate too. As a man as you start getting being in your forties you start to stop loving yourself because you think that you cannot be the handsome cool guy anymore.

Yeah I remember enjoying Instagram so much as a photo diary app back then but everything is so curated now it's crazy
