Very interesting. I have a question while watching this. What happens if the worst possible scenario does happen (e.g. rude rejection, humiliation, etc. in a social situation)? Doesn't the maladaptive response (the anxiety reaction) become stronger in this case? Isn't that a strong, opposite effect than we would expect? What is the theory about this possibility and how does it work in practice?
