Those are 2 really nicely detailed kits. I do marvel at the work to make those molds. I do take offense to that 1976 being vintage. I graduated with my 2-year degree that year. That must make me ancient to you. You whipper snapper! I think the Ford tires are supposed to represent cold tires with the wrinkly sidewalls. That swirl on that one does look like a nasty attachment point. I'm on my way over Bryan. We ran out of sugar cookies, so I'll have to get mine from you. Be there in a minute! 🤣 I hope you're getting better from that childcare crud you and Mrs BG caught. Speedy Recovery! Just like Speedy Delivery from Mr. Rogers. Oh, how my mind wanders and just drags others along for the ride.
Lol, I'm sorry, 1976 does seem to soon to be vintage! I'm heading to bed, so I'll leave the house key under the mat and the cookies are in the pantry! 😁
You would think as old as I am I would have had a IMC kit in the the past ..... sadly I have not ! I dig the race cars from the 60s, Ford/Shelby (Cobra & Daytona coupe), McLaren, Lola, Cheetah etc.etc. Very good video ! 🍻
I agree, the cars from the 60's had some seriously sweet style!! IMC kits are around. But they can be pricey. I hope you can finds some for good prices. 😊
Nice unboxing there Bryan, I had never seen both kits before. Both look good, especially the Lola considering its age. Those instructions are so retro compared to the modern ones. Well done 👍🏼
Howdy! Thank you, these are a couple of my treasure kits. I really want to dive into one but I can't decide which one to build. 🤷🏻♂️ maybe a coin flip is called for lol
If Brian doesn't have a Lola you now he's going to be hunting for one now!!!. The Mark IV is a Great kit as well!!! Thanks for sharing. Happy New Year to you and yours!!!!
Learn something new every day. Wasn’t even aware of IMC. Very cool kits and now I gotta be on the 👀 look out for kits by IMC and see if any suit my fancy. Great video, Bryan!
omg I put notes in my boxes as well! For instance in MPC kits there are notes that say "really?...this one...what's wrong with you" and in others some are "you're not ready" etc. LOL. Great box reviews....lots of rivets
A couple of cool kits you scored Bryan. Watching on my phone those bodies look like you could just polish them and go with it. Good stuff thanks for sharing. Now I’m going to get my cookie lol. . Papadan
I have the Ford Mark IV by MPC that I started over 40 years ago. I need to build it some day. LOL. I also have the IMC Lola that I built some time in the 70's. I hope you build these Bryon. Would love to see them done. Ron
The instruction sheet with the mutli-language print is from a later release, maybe 1970 or 71. The original 1966 version was in english only . Kits released during or after 1969 contained mutli-language sheets. I notice your box on the lower right end still has No. 108-200, which was the kit number and retail price of $2.00. By 1970, most IMC kits had gone to $2.25 and the price on the later boxes were punched out with a small hole punch but the box art remained the same. This really don't mean much, you still have a great vintage kit but it is not all 1966 born. Build it!! It builds into a great kit if you take your time and test fit everything. I still have a unbuilt original, a built for restoring and a re-issue under the Union label. Build it and enjoy it and show us when you are done.
The price ($46) is not bad for an original kit like that since it was started. An unstarted original kit I'm sure would be a lot more expensive and more for the collector. So don't feel bad building it. I would.
Hi Bob, I plan to build one of these this year, just not sure which one yet! Honestly at first I thought I was paying too much for it. But now, it seems we got a deal after all.
Now that sounds like a killer kit! my opinion, maybe open it to see if the tires haven t melted into the plastic. that would be my only concern. Especially if it was the transparent pieces!!
In regards to your instruction sheet looking @ the two photos. The #1 font on both cars differ, also the car on the left is much lighter in tone than the other. Pretty sure the one on the left is the one that won Sebring '67 w/ McLaren/Andretti. The other won LeMans '67 w/ Gurney/Foyt. Very BAD MACHINES.
@@BGsModelWorkshop Cost 1 million dollars to build in 1966! Raced only one year, after that rules cut back engine size allowable thus outlawing the 427.
