An Overweight Kid Always Bullied, Until Finally He Shows His True Power
Haruyuki is an overweight kid and at the bottom of the food chain at his middle school. Within the sci-fi setting of the real world he often seeks refuge in a virtual one. One day however his life changes when he is given an opportunity by the prettiest girl in the school no less, to integrate the two by means of a program called accelerated world (Brain Burst). There is a catch however, in order to keep this add-on he must score points by fighting others within the realm of this new virtual world.

Honestly super underrated anime Fun fact, this is set in the same universe as sword art online, the nerve gear is shown at one point and same with the AR tech from the movie. Double fun rumor. The main female character is HEAVILY teased to be kirito and Asunas daughter. Another fun fact. There is a crossover chapter where the MC meets kirito in the burst world. I believe he was some myth in the world but I don't remember. That chapter and the manga in general was odd lol.

So I scrolled and didn't see anyone mentioning it so I'm just gonna- The reason he got his wings back for good is because Chiyuri found out her powers weren't actually healing, but rather rewinding someone's time. She followed Noumi around willingly "helping" him so that she could continuously rewind him until she could get to the point where she'd rewound him enough to a time before he had stolen Haruyuki's wings, which she finally managed during the final fight, then promptly abandoned Noumi, followed up by Haruyuki practically executing him with a full-force gale thruster blade + his OG wings to slice him clean in half

i always prefer accel world over SAO. maybe its the fact that in accel, the real and virtual world are link, there is back and forth between the 2 world and what happen in the virtual have consequence in the real world too. ( aggression, people that mutilated themselve, people that became mad etc) tldr : its not an isekai like most of SAO.

Me too, I prefer Accel World over sao, Accel World has a better designed plot, and like Reki Kawahara says, he made Accel World's protagonist have clear weaknesses, and we can see him struggle alot, while Kirito in SAO is too bland and perfect.

I remember watching this when SAO was in the 2nd season and honestly it makes SAO a lot cooler too because things talked about in this like they are common are things being figured out in SAO. And I had to look up if this ever ended and it did. And all I'll say.. ALL MY THEORIES WERE RIGHT. lol

@@crystalclearchaos5387 yep! This takes place I think like 20-30 years... long enough for kirito to have a kid and for them to be a teenager. This show actually showed our first look at what was to be at the end of SAO.. honestly the connection is what is super fascinating to me
