Hi Julie. This has definitely been food for thought. I’m especially interested in the wine glasses, and to think that I got rid of about two dozen of them in a garage sale when we downsized our home. Thanks for sharing some good ideas for unusual plant pots.

😮 Renate downsizing purge. I understand. Thankfully Kmart has a 4 pack for 10 bucks. Or maybe you could get lucky at the local opshop

I use all kinds of stuff I find at our local dollar store or second hand shop for mounting or growing orchids in. I like your purchases but I think the Twinkles will outgrow your wine glasses quite quickly because they are very vigorous growers and produce multiple new growths every then months. Good luck, I really like your new containers and as said, it doesn't always have to cost a lot to be useful.

Hi Julie your channel just popped up on my home page, I’m in NSW on the east coast near the Qld border and it’s great to have another Aussie grower to learn from. Thanks for the great ideas, I inherited my Dads orchids and I’m doing my best to try and not only keep them alive but also get them thriving again like he had them and of course enjoy their lovely blooms. I also watch Matthew in Melbourne but his climate is very different to mine, where are you growing?

I am not opposed to buying food containers at the Dollar Tree and burning drainage holes in them to pot plants. I can get a 15 cm square for $1.25 and I can't get a clear 15 cm square pot otherwise. I like to use the "sandwich" containers to set seedling pots in so they stand upright and can't fall through the shelves.
