I'd just like to repeat a very wise comment I once saw: "Personally I think that this song FITS better, even though mutiny is obviously a better song. Mutiny works better for Jade, while this song works better for Becquerel. But you're not supposed to be going 'hey, Jade's pretty good with that rifle', you're supposed to be going HOLY FUCK SPACE-BENDING DOG!"
At first I was very concerned as to why Jade was about to up and f*cking shoot her dog, but then it started bending space-time and I realized how little that mattered lmao. This page was an experience. Also the brass blast when the dog just teleports in out of nowhere was awesome. 1:08 Also also Bonetrousle.
Honestly there are so many good marching band sounding songs in the soundtrack of Homestuck that I am INCREDIBLY surprised there isn't something put together yet??? Like If I ever managed to take the time to learn music I might do that just because it feels necessary at this point.
Ok so I took a look at mutiny after the big fuss about that song, and it was good yeah but it sounded more like a night stage in a sonic game. I find this one to fit the fight better since Bec seems like a sort of boss with his powers. I find that it fits him perfectly with how incredibly powerful he is.
Hmm. I actually like this more than Mutiny. As a song at least. Don't get me wrong, Mutiny is good too, I just personally like this better. I don't really have an opinion on which one fits Jade's Strife with Bec more though, since I got into Homestuck way after Mutiny was replaced with Unbreakable Union.
I try to think of it as one of Becquerel's habits, teleporting itself or other things all of a sudden with reasons we probably can't fathom immediately. And I thought of a scene when Jade sneaked into the Frog Temple, exploring the surroundings and meddling with her sylladex, she was intercepted and teleported out of the Temple by Becquerel. So, the abrupt ending of this song kind of represents Jade being stopped in the middle of something (?)
The ending of the song finishes at the beginning of the track skaian ride, which is the song right after this song on volume 5. That end was supposed to transition into the next track naturally but it looks like it got fucked up.
I wonder what would it be like if Becquerel and Sissel from Ghost Trick got to know each other. One of them is a space-warping dog, and the other is time-travelling cat. One is the First Guardian of the Earth, the other is hinted numerous times to be a deity. One erased the humanity from Earth's surface in order to save his beloved owner. The other jumped through timelines over and over again to save people he didn't even know, and eventually sacrificed his own life to create a new timeline where they all would be alive and safe. Both Sissel and Becquerel, despite being different, beind a Time Cat and a Space Dog respectively, have one trait in common - their unconditional love towards their owners. The power of this feeling passed from Bec to Jack Noir and rendered him unable to harm Jade. And Sissel saved Yomiel even knowing he's a horrible murderer, never really blamed him for what he did and even died for him in the process. What would these fellas talk about? What would be their opinions about each other? I wonder..
@@arazet Sorry you got so spoiled. The remaster is on steam, and while it's expensive, it's as worth a play as anything by Lucas Pope or Toby Fox. I love it to bits, and it was my first real game.

Listening to the song for the first couple of updates this march 2016, and wow I'm just so glad for the existence of homestuck. It's been 6 years since I've gotten to read this whirlwind of a comic and damn, I'm crying. I hope it all goes out with a bang! Not a literal one though!!! D:
I hate to be the billionth person to draw connections between homestuck's and undertale's soundtrack, but at 1:10 it sounds vaguely similar to Nyeheheh for like five notes.
+Maximus Most likely a coincidence. This music was written by Robert Blaker, (Or at least it says that in the description) and Nyeheheh was written by Tony Fox.
@mythmonster2 It depends. Mutiny is better for the feeling that Bec is rebelling against Jade, or that Jade desires the package, and distracts Bec. This song is more fitting as for when the four pose as a team cause shit just got real!
This definitely has an epic boss battle feel to it. Feels kind of like... Fighting Edea in FF8. This song's actually growing on me, even though I'm so used to Mutiny being used for Jade and Bec's "strife".
@mythmonster2 I dunno, maybe its my predisposition to the very classical feel of Unbreakable Union, but I felt like this was actually a hell of a lot better than Mutiny. Gotta' remember mate, "obviously a better song" is an opinion.
@Bayc0n That's not true, I like some of the replacement tracks better than the originals. I think this is a really solid song, I Just liked the original track because it had a more chiptune-quality to it, which matched the other kids' strife themes better.
@ilikesniffingcheese Already started writing out music for drumline on the percussion parts. Sounding quite awesome, just adding a few stuff of my own like bass runs. Quad solos.

I can’t be the only one to think this doesn’t fit Bec that well? I listen to the homestuck albums a lot, and never really felt like there was a good Bec theme. Usually character songs fit them super well within Homestuck, so I guess that’s why im surprised. Don’t get me wrong, I like this song, I just wish there was a better one for Bec.
i think it fits because bec is like. a terrifyingly powerful eldritch abomination but also benevolent. it gives the vibes of a legendary pokemon battle theme because that's kind of what bec is
@@novameowww Hmmm okay I can see that! I think maybe I'm thinking of Bec too much from Jade's POV, where he is also her silly dog on top of being a powerful beast. And I would think a song titled "An Unbreakable Union" would be more about, well, Bec and Jade's union, which I don't think it sounds like. But I think any other character would view Bec more like an eldritch abomination like you said, which fits this more. And honestly saying he's a "legendary pokemon" feels super accurate but I never thought of that before.
