I agree with that woman completely. No, we of GenX are not okay, and we never will be. We are constructed from destruction, and have been built from being broken. Never come over to our side, but if you earn our friendship we may wonder over to yours now and then to visit .... or to bring unholy wrath down upon those that would harm the ones we call friends.

I had to make a conscious effort to stop getting ultra defensive whenever my wife asks me if I'm ok because my instincts always tell me it's a passive-aggressive way to tell me to stop existing because it's annoying. That's what it's always meant in the past. I'm not used to people who express genuine concern for my well being. It makes me skeptical and suspicious. So I don't blame you for distrusting her, too.

I'm firmly GenX born 70 and "ok" is a loaded question. Am I ok with myself? You betcha.. am I physically ok? Ask my diabetes and 35 year smoking habit and the salt lick I keep by the dinner table am I ok with the way society is headed? Hell no . Gen z is in for a hard life

It's not that we aren't a part of history, believe me- we are. We just don't hang around for the photos ops & kudos of a job well done. We don't celebrate ourselves, erect statues or throw parades over accomplishments. We simply _move on._ Because a body in motion stays in motion unless it is acted upon by an external force. (Also, we're too busy moving forward to step backwards and take a bow.)

Honestly, until the pandemic, I had no clue that genxer's even bothered talking about genx stuff. I figured our time came and went, like a candle in the wind. But I guess a response was sorta inevitable since everything has now gone to shit and most of us don't recognize the culture we once influenced.

Gen X here ....I asked my millennial son if he talks to any Gen X and he said not unless I have too because one of three things will happen....1. They stare at you with the are you stupid look on their face. 2. They answer with one word answers. 3. You tick them off with what ever you say and you have to run before they kick your rear. lmao I just did number 1 when he said that and he pointed and said that's the look.

I'm not sure how this happened but I'm a gen x'er with a gen z, a millennial, and an alpha. My Gen Z wants to blame me for most of her problems because I didn't offer enough emotional support. She's 31 My millennial thought I was pretty lame and boring and hit the streets by the time she was 16 determined not to follow my path of responsibility and family. She's 25 My alpha son is 12 so obviously he doesn't care.
