A very unexpected visitor arrived at the Dewpond a couple of weeks ago when I was there photographing all the birds bathing there. At first I thought it was a large rabbit, then I thought it was a hare and then I thought it was a rabbit again! However, now that I have viewed it back on the large screen I can see it's black-tipped ears and slightly protruding eye sockets so realise I was privileged to see a hare coming for a visit! I think it was quite a young hare and that's why I was having difficulty in identifying it at the time. Not sure what it was eating when it was digging the soil-maybe roots or perhaps insects or even worms?
