Here's a fun-filled video and an absolutely unforgettable day in the Swiss Alps that we will treasure forever!!
A little recap of our journey from the town of Spiez (where we were staying):
We woke up super early to start the day and made sure to catch the earliest train possible from Spiez to to Interlaken and then a train to Lauterbrunnen.
From Lauterbrunnen we took the cable car up to Grütschalp. Then switched to a historic narrow-gauge train to Mürren, it was such a beautiful train ride with gorgeous scenery.
Couple of more cable rides from Mürren, we then finally reached the top of Schilthorn! If you want to see breathtaking panoramic views of the snow capped peaks of Switzerland, this is the place to visit! There's also a very cool interactive museum (Bond World 007) dedicated to James Bond as this was a filming location for one of the movies.
We then also tried out the Thrill Walk at the Birg cable car station. This is a must-do when you are here and gives you such a rush walking literally on the side of the cliff with a view to die for. It's free with the cable car ticket price!
One of the most memorable part of our day was to walk through the fresh alpine meadows and valleys through the picturesque charming Swiss mountain villages from Mürren to Gimmelwald. We highly recommend everyone to explore these beautiful scenic part of the mountains simply by walking.
Once we were back down to the valley, We decided to check out the powerful and unique Trummelbach falls and we're glad we did! It was so nice walking through the tunnels and caves and experiencing the raw power of nature. (Make sure to bring a jacket or a sweater, it's so cold inside the caves!)
After an easy bus ride back to Lauterbrunnen, we explored the picturesque town a bit more before heading back to Spiez for a much deserved rest for the night.
