U cant find much honest review these days and U did very well. Nice to see some Euro brands coming here to LA and thats all good for the Business. Just cant imagine an Enduro bike anything steeper than a 64.5deg HA. Anyhow, thanx for the video Alan. Back to regular programming LoL.

Was that Greer ranch you were riding at? Last I heard it was closed. I hope it’s open. I am in the market for Emtb thanks for turning me on to Fly bikes I didn’t even know about them.

My pleasure. They're a nice way to try out eBikes from different brands. That was in fact Greer. It's not closed. But there will be some developments in the next couple years.

Cool to see you do some reviews on e-bikes. This bike seemed kind of like a Frankenstein of parts. $8000 for XC tires, a so so drivetrain, and only a single tube rear shock, is way over-priced. Mondraker is a great company, but this one needs a huge revamp.

Yeah...it's hard to say what goes behind the spec decisions. It does look like the 2022 model has better tires though.

@Max Shenk I have the XT 12 speed. I meant for the price. I love my XT drivetrain and brakes. Price wise, my Giant Reign e+1 came with: XT drivetrain and brakes, 170mm fox 36 performance fork, and 160mm fox performance x2 shock for $6000. Whether you like Giant or not, that's a huge price difference.

Prefer the Mondraker...Chaser. Perfect for bulky riders, and propels my 255 pounds, up steep northern NY hills without breaking a sweat. Also, the Chaser, was purchased when all other frame models of various brands were inevitably...out-of-stock. Could have purchased a Trek Rail. But since Trek, turned-it's-back on Lance Armstrong, I stay away from all brands associated with Trek. Use the Chaser for my ten mile daily commute. Gotta have a job to afford an e-bike. And operates gloriously in temperatures below freezing. Also, the carbon frames are for weight weenies and the wealthy. Forty years of carbon frames on the market, and it keeps getting expensive. And carbon, can't support big-boys.

Yeah. I think all of them are chunky except maybe the Specialized SL ones. The contrast between the toptube and downtube on the Dusk kind of accentuates it a bit.

@@mtb_alan The Orbea Rise also looks pretty sleek. Hoping for more bikes like these. The new Trek Rail also looks like it hides its mass better for a full power one.

How so? For $7700 you get a $250 Yari and a decent rear shock. But you get a 504 wh battery and last year's entry level motor. For $300 more you get a $1200 fork, an entry level fox rear shock, a brand new release motor with more torque and tunability plus a 630 wh battery.

Firstly on an eMTB motor and battery size is where it’s at, second is suspension these are the highest cost part of the bike all else is upgradeable at a reasonable cost if you feel the need XT drive train is well spec’d for this bike a third consideration for me are brakes they have to “just work” can’t have brakes that fade or loose grip due to lack of power there’s a lot of weight to handle especially traveling DH, I say these things as an eMTB owner and not just speculating.
