1990 HDJ81 owner here, the LC is very reliable and very capable. A baseline maintenance regimen for these is an absolute must. Don’t waste money on added weight….bumpers, roof racks, bigger tires, lift etc…until the maintenance is complete. Drive it for a while. Cheap LED taillights can be had until an OEM unit can be found.
Hey man also. The knuckles are super easy and the rebuild kit is pretty cheap. Also, I’ve got a really nice front bumper with no dents if you’re interested.
I drive a 91 80series. enjoy the power of the newer model. OME has a 2" lift coil. on stock shocks it rides amazing. spend the $160 on the new alignment bushings.
I had the OME 2” lift on my LX 450. If you mean the caster correction bushings, I just did the caster plates because everyone had horror stories of the bushings failing.
I had trinity leather here in Dallas , They replaced all my leather for around 1500 bucks and the they look brand new. maybe more now because i had done before the plandemic
Can you cover a video of Knuckles when you get to them or a video about maintenance and such. I have a lx450 that only one knuckle looks like yours I’m wondering how long I got and if I do need to tend to them do I just get a rebuild kit and how would I know?
I might do one, however there’s already a very well done video on them that I’ll follow. So I probably won’t make a video on it, because it has a ton of steps.
To my knowledge the tail lights are still available from Toyota. I just bought a set a few weeks ago. Also, have you considered replacing the engine wiring harness to minimize the hassle of breaking old connectors?
I like this Car so much, but it confuses me, kindly let me know is this Toyota land cruiser VX limited? Which engine does it use? Manual or Automatic? How many gears? Does it have turbo? How many litres of engine capacity?
