Thank you for the update! I actually only watch your RU-vid channel. What I get out of your content vs. other sustainable influencers I follow is that: 1. You're local to me- I'm pretty sure we both live in the same city. 2. You have an emphasis on creating change on a systemic level and not only making changes in your daily life, but also in your local community (e.g., making legislative changes, speaking with businesses and local council members, etc). The second reason is what sets you apart from other folks I follow. I would LOVE to see you place more of an emphasis on how to make changes in our local communities, how to reach out to politicians, email businesses, what exactly we should be advocating for, etc. That is the area where I think so many of us could have a major influence and just don't know where to start. If you started placing a greater emphasis on that, it would set you apart from SO many other sustainable influencers out there.

I love all of your content, Kathryn! I totally understand those feelings about some of the clickbait-y nature of RU-vid and the frustration of the effort not paying off. Something Gary Vaynerchuk has said that I find helpful is to prioritize 80% of your efforts on what is working the best, and divide up that remaining 20% on other platforms just to keep them active, but not feel like you have to put your absolute best into everything. You do great work across the board and I hope you don't put too much pressure on yourself about the schedule!

Appreciate the update! I love your “things I don’t buy anymore” content not sure what platform I saw it on but it was great! Also love your content on activism/what to do in your community. Don't stop being awesome!

Kathryn, I'm always so impressed by you! I'm one of those viewers that follows you on other platforms (and watches more of your content on those platforms, since the basics of zero waste are a little been-there-done-that for me, though I see the value for others) and I'm continuously impressed by the volume of high quality, original, upbeat, helpful content you post as well as your responsiveness to your audience! I think most of the times I've responded to your IG story/post/newsletter/etc, you've responded, which is by no means an expectation but doesn't go unnoticed. I would love to see your blog post on electric cars turned into a video! There is SO much great information in there. But focus on the platforms that excite you. I'm not unsubscribing any time soon :)

another video I would love to see would be a zero waste mood journal -- I love Rosianna Halse Rojas' monthlong cooking-mental health videos, and I feel like there's space for a similar video with ZW.

You're PERFECT just the way you are - and so are your videos! Tbh most of us just watch you for content, and I don''t think any of us care if you have cinematic panning or studio lighting etc. But I support no matter what you do - its impossible to argue that you come alive with reels and tik toks! Keep being amazing :)

I love your honesty so thank you for giving us viewers an update! I personally don't have a IG or a tiktok account as a choice (trying not to feed too much into social media, but I do lament that I can't follow my favorite content creators, such as yourself), but I do look forward to your blog posts!

I started to get into zero waste two years ago and I realized that the more aware I get about the environment and the effects of our daily actions, the more difficult it gets to me to deal with some friends. It's breaking my heart, because I've been friends with some of them for a lot of years. But it gets difficult for me to not turn into an angry environmentalist when I hear them talking, so I distance myself. I'm afraid to lose the friendship when I'm telling them they aren't basically hypocrites but I can't deal with their actions anymore. I hope I've been able to explain the situation, because I'm not a native speaker. Did you ever experienced similar things or/and do you know some advice for a situation like this?

I understand what you’re going through. If you value your friendships, try to step back and look at it differently. Once upon a time you may have been the same way as them, and it took something to open your eyes a little. Maybe you stumbled upon a zero waste video by chance, and it got the wheels turning in your head. Then you got started on your eco journey. And lets admit it... we all make mistakes still, and I’m sure none of us have been able to become 100% zero waste overnight (or even 100% zero waste period). Instead, why don’t you try to plant little subtle seeds of wisdom or show them how happy you are living your zero waste lifestyle and lead by example. Maybe brag a little about how it’s improved your life or saved you money. I know that becoming angry and judgmental isn’t going to help anyone, including myself. So what I’ve done is just give little sprinkles of information about what I’m doing/my eco journey when my friends ask “so what’s new? What’s going on in your life?” Now I have 3 friends who have genuinely become interested and are now on their own path to living a more Earth friendly life. They ask for zero waste book recommendations, they are amazed when I tell them about sustainable swaps that they never heard of, and they brag to me about ways they’ve become more sustainable and thank me for opening their eyes! I feel so blessed that I have such a supportive group of friends, but I know they might not be quite as supportive if I didn’t approach this the right way. Try and have patience, because we all have to start somewhere and at our own time. No one is born with this knowledge. Best wishes!

One time on a website these anti trash people had this lady keep a diary of her lifestyle for 4 months. The diary talked about all of the stuff she bought. When it was Christmas time she talked about going out to buy a new tree and decorations because every year after Christmas she just throws everything away. She said that it was easier to just throw it away than keep it all year long. Well I dont know how they kept the trash that long but after the 4 months they showed her how much trash she threw away and she had such a shocked look on her face

Could do film crew as an internship versus hiring a crew

I only watch your youtube channel. with ADHD I sometimes find it hard to comprehend everything I read vs watch. I love your content and this channel along with others I have slowly started changing to a more sustainable life. I do have a question for you. I know that fraking is bad for the environment. I also understand that LP gas is harvested this way and there is no way to tell how the gas in this canister was gathered. Is city natural gas the same as LP? Tylor may have something with the internship angle; however I would at least have a couple people that know what's up and are the leaders. otherwise you become the teacher and the talent; not fun for you and way too stressful.

SHLM UHaB (peace & love). The Name of the Creator is Hayah asher Hayah, as what He told Mose (Exodus 3:14), preserved in the Hebrew Scriptures. There is a curse to the G-o-d name (Isaiah 65:11-12), preserved in the Hebrew Scriptures. All followers of the Messiah are to do the 7 appointed times (Leviticus 23), but no more animal sacrifices, following the Crucifixion of the Messiah. We are now of the order of MLK TSDQ (King, Righteous), to Whom ABRaHM tithed. Ask the Messiah to be your personal Savior. He is the ONLY way to Everlasting Life. He is the Atoning Offering for mankind for the remission of sin ( 1 John 2:1-2). He said to him, I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me (John 14:6).
