When you all say Egyptian Arabic, are you referring to the standard Arabic that they say is used in the news and etc.? I really want to learn Arabic. I am so intimidated by the different dialects and want to be sure I am able to practice using it. In my community, most of the people who speak Arabic seem to be from Jordan.

the arabic you hear on the news is proper arabic, most egyptians speak slang so the dialect is a little different
