Tail is actually anatomically and visually different when you come in close contact with a snake; the underbelly stops right before the tail part of a snake. Its also prehensile but it doesnt have ribs like the rest of the snake

@@gigachad5568 That is not correct. Snakes in the wild literally rub against rocks and tree bark to get of their shed. If the snake is at the correct humidity and needs a bit of help, it's fine. As long as you aren't ripping it off and they're hydrated, the snake won't mind the assistance and it should not hurt.
Fynn K It was a couple months ago, me and my friend were talking about stupid stuff at like 5am after we read a bunch of CP. Due to the time I said anything that came to mind which in this case was "Miley Cyrus' wrecking ball video but the wrecking ball is a waffle" to which my friend said "What if Ticci Toby was on that wrecking waffle" after this I started to photoshop the shit storm that is my profile picture. I woke up later on and nearly cried at what I had done. To add to this I had also photoshopped one of my friends faces onto Miley but instead of a waffle it was a deathstar pancake(I photoshopped like 7 different pictures with his face in it) . And that concludes this installment of Why I don't stay up until 6am and 7am anymore. I feel that sleep deprivation is one hell of a drug. My entire life is just chaos.

I agree. Spiders straight look like they fkn sprout new legs from their back. Then it just gets worse when the skin on the head detaches from the rest of it. Like just why?

@@haleighchenkus1180, she would have tried to bite or get away if she were in pain. Although not being a snake or any reptile owner, I have done a ton of research.
If I could shed off my skin, I’d be really happy. All The scars, stuff like white/blackheads, dun draft, and all The Filth getting left on The shedded skin... I’d feel so rejuvinated.
We do shed our skin! Constantly, actually, in little bits. A good amount of the dust in our houses is made of our shed skin. Snakes can't really do that because scales and it would leave them vulnerable so they shed like this.
All these 🐍 aficionados in the comment section should stop with the "your not supposed to do that" . Educate yourselves before you make assumptions based off of how only you feel. In actuality, MANY captive snakes (not all but many) DO need help with the shed. It's also extremely important as a snake owner to know how to assist them. While this particular snake doesn't seem to need help the young man is not hurting her and only demonstrating how to help a more aquatic snake shed. If a pet snake doesn't she'd entirely/completely it can cause infection and lead to problems with their next shed & other medical issues.

@@ascherio2.081 its really NOT... the whole "helping a snake shed is harmful" thing has been debunked by pros TIME AND TIME again... as long as its ready to go its fine.. how is rubbing against your hand worse than rubbing against a rock or tree?... hes just holding the shed in place so she can wiggle out, hes serving the same purpose the rock would be...you are confusing shed assist with FORCING A SHED... which is forcefully pulling off skin that isnt ready
I feel like some peeps are gonna be like, 'you shouldn't help her shed it's bad', shut up. He isn't hurting the snake at all by helping. Once the sheding process starts you can help, it isn't gonna damage the animal.
If you pull it off rather then let them take it off themselves, it takes off more then they may want and even though its shedding doesnt mean all the skin underneath is ready to be exposed yet, just certain parts are
@@ectoplasm9023 that's how it works with lizards and anything that isn't a long tube. Of course, if the snake feels in pain and it has already started shedding, it should be brought to a vet, but they shed all at once
@@ectoplasm9023 they're not lizards 🤣 if its coming off in pieces, it's not got high enough humidity, once a snake has started, it's all ready to come off. By the looks of it, this snake had only managed to start the bottom, not the top so he gently rubbed it off after soaking the snake

Talan Smith didn’t look like it was having trouble and the video is misleading telling anyone they can just do this. That shed came off easily meaning he could’ve just let the snake rub on something herself.
It might not hurt them in the moment, but it causes issues with future sheds. Sometimes it will look like the animal has started to shed, and if you peel it, you can risk ripping out a premature scale, or making them feel like their new skin is raw (like the aftereffects of shaving your legs with a men's razor). Helping your snake shed should only be done when it's necessary, and even then, you do not touch the snake's shed directly.
TechnicallyToxicity I could name you 30 other species that are as docile and friendly as that one (There are a lot more than that but I'm not an expert)

Travis Mcallister They don’t necessarily need help lmao, some snakes are just handled more often so they’re more used to humans and stuffs. Like he was saying, the snake should be well hydrated and the moisture in its enclosure should be enough for the shed to not get stuck

This was half gross/half mesmerising lol. I've never seen a snake shed whilst it's happening, so it was pretty cool. That bit that got tight... You now have a snakeskin bracelet lol.
It's weird how satisfying this is. Just seeing something pulled off the snake that doesn't belong anymore, and also seeing how she look nervous at first but then realized you were helping her and allowed you to pull off the skin.
