Plot twist : Obi wan and qui gon fought over their last chess game and OBI WAN Ended up killing him.......He probably survived the lightsaber stabbing from maul as reva did.
XD I love how Obi-Wan gets so upset over the horse peice in chess, I cna imagine when he first discovered this when he was younger Qui-Gon had to send him to his room cool off. But that annoyance still reigns to this day clearly.
I had the same impression of game levels with the shields going down one by one. That, and the deja vu feel from earlier Star Wars, even the layout of the place where R5 is taking a cue from R2 and deactivating stuff. And Obi Wan is right about the black sabre - well, it WAS needed once at least to cut a hole in the metal wall for their escape. The olympic torch vibe was cool. But I really wanted that mythosaur to surface when Din Grogu looked into the water! THAT would have been a cool ending to the season for sure.
My biggest disappointment with this season is just how little it actually continues to actually explore the mandalorians as a people. We get 3 groups who join Bo and all kind of for slightly different reasons but it’s all continually, “she has the sword” or “the rules can change”. Why not actually bring in from the lore the 1 thing that can actually unite all Mandalorians and is an undisputed relic that holds complete power. The mask of the Mandalore. Have Bo and Mando go about with Mando using the sword as a sign of legitimacy to the claim of the title of Mandalore. Have it most of this season is exploring said conflicts, religious, creed and even honour differences between the separated clans; I.e. some prefer duels of combat with only blades, others blasters and blades, others all tech ones has. Or some believe in the mercenary lifestyle, others the warrior code only, some the crusader code, some the peace code of Satine, etc. And show how each clan may slowly have began to forget the relics they hold dear and maybe even the biases in some - I.e. some allow aliens while others only those of homeworld blood or others clan blood only, etc. Then as Mando unites them he finds himself unable to control them fully and this is where Bo suggests the Mask… which we soon learn is held by the New Republic who know of its value to the Mandalorians but also the danger it imposes in giving such a warrior culture and people a unifying leader again. They lead an attack on “insert holding place”. And either: 1. The attack goes to absolute disaster initially as Mando has zero knowledge on controlling such a force and uniting them to fight under him outside of just “the blade gives me claim to the mask” - which they’ll happily be many who’d still challenge him and shoot him for such - but knowing that Bo has such a knowledge on it and has lead many clans before in battle and unity, but also knowing her status is in absolute shame and shambles after the empire bombing campaign, disgraces himself fully to hand her the blade while still alive, with Bo sparing his life and either allowing him to go into Exile with Grogu - essentially keeping the mando story to continue as a side bounty Hunter thing again - or allows him to rework his life in her clan to regain his status as a mandalorian. Or He leads the attack and it’s a bloody one but he finally gets the mask or is close to it when he is mortally wounded. Knowing his death is coming, he gives it to Bo (or asks a very loyal member to her - or actually acknowledge that to Mandalorians the final words of one passing this blade on should never be disputed to the dead but only the living and stealing such is very much a extreme “kill on sight” for all mando people) to which he’ll give it to Bo to carry on the mission. On getting the Mask of Mandalore she can unite all the clans behind her and with the Dark Sabre at her side she her claim to it would be pretty much undisputed. Yes she’d essentially lose the name Bo Katan but she’d understand that taking the name of Mandalore. From here you can have it following her and mando if he’s still around leading the United Mandalorian Clans in a full invasion of Mandalore to re conquer it - and you can even hint at a slight dark ending too with maybe Bo taking her seat on the throne and looking upon the old art and statues of the other Mandalores, sets about rebuilding the Mandalorians for the future crusades to conquer the galaxy once again
Youre whole story will end up sidelining din in his own show even more then the shitty script the actual show used. Bo is an unlikable entitled rich brat.
