I was scared for maresca ,if he would be able to cope with the media ,but he has done very well up till now .

I'm going to say the same thing I said about Pulisic before he went to Milan. Mudryk needs to grasp the "super sub" role and just not worry about starting, but worry about what he can do in the 20-30 minutes he'll get off the bench.

I have been a Chelsea for over 60 years. A player who in his early years mostly played as a substitute and I remember the Chelsea boo boys constantly on him. Peter Houseman later became a fan favourite despite his slow start. Tragically, he died in a car accident.

When it comes on to mudryk I don’t think he’ll make it at Chelsea. Tyrique George from the academy looks like a more rounded and balanced player than mudryk buying him was a waste of money we should’ve just waited and integrate George in the first team

I can't say Disasi is the best CB, but I rate him much more than Badiashile. I think a lot of his underperformance last season was due to Badiashile's reluctance to take the ball and his overall poor form. I'm not sure if he'll have a better season than Tosin, but I'd guess so. I can definitely say we need his passion, tho. Also I totally agree that our first half against CP was one of the best performances we've had in quite some time

The way to summarize this team is simple. We would only win games when we play good football. Gone are the days when we can be shit but have players stand up and get us over the line. That also describes the kind of striker Jackson is Also, Enzo is an enigma but he shouldn't be placed as an advanced prayer Finally I disagree that we have not had many rubbish singings since the first window. Only like two or three have come good and the verdict is still on Caicedo even though he is picking up form but was definitelynot worth 100 plus million. A good number of players that are making this first team were even signed during the first window like: Gusto abd Fofana

I 100% agree with Josh about Tosin! I get that he is a new signing and it’s exciting but the guy didn’t even play week in week out for Fulham. I feel like even though he’s one of the older players but he need to prove something before we give him too much praise.

Love the video & insight as always, but even last season I’d have to say that i’ve never been unsure of Disasi, and have always seen Badiashile as a liability on & off the ball. Watched 90% of the matches & can say there’s only been a handful of matches where i’ve felt that Badiashile might work out. Disasi on the other hand always looked good when paired with a more organized/ball playing CB & has also shown on countless occasions that he’s got that fire in him to play aggressive & put in hard blocks/tackles. That’s my 2 cents, cheers guys🤙🏼

I agree with you both! There’s a certain irony to it. Maresca has a much better system and tactical identity but he’s also less stubborn that Poch. Poch had no clear system but also no solutions or tweaks. Maresca has offered both.

We do have a good squad, except the goalie but we’ll pick things up and score goals eventually, hopefully right after the break. I don’t mind conceding two for every 6 we score…

The Caicedo - Enzo question might be answered after the international break... Temporarily... Caicedo as an inverted RB. He's played that role before... We signed him because of the performances he showed in this system. Enzo in the DM role... Neto/Sancho LW, Felix/Nkunku 10, Palmer 10, Noni/Neto RW, Jackson will play up top

Caicedo and Enzo just need to swap roles. After Gusto came off against palace and everyone shifted around, the fluidity came back to our play. Enzo at deep 6 looked a lot better (not necessarily saying Caicedo at RB though). Same with Felix. As soon as he moved into the centre from the wing, his whole game came alive

This team has the guns up front it’s just our defense that needs work. I was down on Jackson last season but he’s improving and a great link up player, unselfish and he’s scored in back to back games, we need to support him, no matter what people say he plays hard. Enzo frustrates me, he can provide the killer pass but loses the ball too much and unlike Conor doesn’t know how to defend. I can see this team starting to formulate and get what Maresca wants, it’s going to improve with each game. It’s just our defensive problems I’m worried about, that’s got to be fixed if we want to even sniff top 4. Up the Blues! 💙

While we're all thinking Maresca should clearly invert Cucurella, but what you said about Cucurella being good at at back is spot on! So more than Gusto not being an inverting fullback, he's just not, James is clearly going to be that. So for the time being, Maresca wants Cucurella to get used to inverting at the back while Gusto "covers" for James

The comment about Disasi being bought when we had Trev isn’t really relevant, the reason he was bought was due to the injury Trev picked up in pre season last year, leaving us with only Silva and Colwill as our only fit CBs. Disasi had to be bought, the better argument would be the money could’ve and should’ve been spent better on a more solid CB

Veiga is good but i wish he would be more brave and not always play the safe pass, i know he can do it but if feel like hes nervous

Felix isn't a left winger, mudryk literally played 30 senior matches before he was plucked for a large fee. As chelsea fans have, we honestly forgotten about salahs, De bruyne struggles at chelsea and now they are 2 of the greatest players we've seen. That's just 2 examples, mudryk was a kid lacking experience. Pedro neto has 20 ass 11 goals in the epl, mudryk stats aren't to bad compared to neto considering games played

It seems we keep forgetting that Caicedo wasn’t bought to be a box to box midfielder but he was supposed to be that destroyer who will relieve Enzo of his defensive duties but Enzo is still tasked to defend and track back which is his weakness because Caicedo isn’t matching the same tackling stats he was putting up at Brighton… but I’m not saying he hasn’t been good

Caicedo and Lavia in the middle dm role is way better than having Enzo Fernandez who I believe is too slow for the premier league. If felix is given the chance he can be more clinical than Jackson who although is doing okay does miss many chances when we need him to score. I think overall this Chelsea team just needs a solid DMs to hold against other premier league clubs and veiga can be a great other option if Lavia is injured but Enzo Fernandez really does not suit this Chelsea team

I really think disasi has some character about him. Hes 100% the better of the two monaco boys. Badiashile is one of the most error-prone defenders ive ever seen tbh. Disasi is definetly not the same level as the others but hes got passion which can lead him somewhere i think.

Since Conor Gallagher is gone, formation necessitate that Cucurella to play as defensive midfielder. Lavia as a defensive player is great but what is the use when he is injured? Instead, deploy Mudryk as a left back.

Enzo on the other hand I feel this would have been cleared if we let lavia go to Liverpool and to be honest he is the one because arne slot needs that type of guy. We already had Lesley and Santos as backups and we still went to buy him either way and now that he's looked good under this system. That's a problem for Enzo the coach and Enzo the player.

As for mudryk I don't think it's all doom and gloom yet, if you see Palmer will most likely play as a 10, Felix as a false 9, and Neto is left footed and has thrived on the right while Sancho on the left so mudryk and madueke could also compete for those spots as well.

What bothers me about Maresca is the amount of frankly outright weird decisions he's also making. Decisions that we have extremely good reason to consider bad because we saw them fail horribly last season, and yet for some inexplicable reason we have to do them again. And the decisions still look terrible. If you've seen your mate hammer himself over the finger and it looks like it hurts, you have to be a real melon to do it yourself on purpose. And if you've done that a couple of times, why on Earth wouldn't you effing stop? And that's literally what Enzo Fernandez as a number 10 is. Against Palace, there were even situations where Palmer was going deep to move the ball forward while Enzo was further up the pitch. What sort of absurd logic is that? We have two highly consistent goal scorers on the team. Only two. They're Nkunku and Palmer. So why on Earth is Maresca doing just about everything other than building around getting them on the ball inside the box? Madueke might get there, Felix could too one day, Jackson has some way to go still, and neither of Mudryk and Peto look like consistent scorers. James can score a few, if he could stay healthy. The rest? Ehh. If we make top 4, the goals has to come from somewhere, and the most likely providers are Palmer and Nkunku mainly and the rest of the bunch as recurring contributors. I believe we absolutely can make top 4 with Jackson as the main striker, but I struggle to see how we could do it if we want him to score all the goals while intentionally taking Palmer and Nkunku out of play. Additionally, false 9 as a concept can work great if you have goal-scoring inside forwards to compensate. It can't work if your inside forwards are Enzo Fernandez and Gusto, who will score probably 5-10 goals between them in a particularly good year. Another thing I've noticed is that we've scored 0 goals in organized offense so far. 1 from a corner, 2 from penalties, the rest from quick transitions. If a defense is organized then we've so far had no luck at all breaking it down, and we don't look very comfortable trying to break them down. Notice the amount of players we're attacking with, the type of players, and where they're positioned. All that talk about getting 1v1's for the wingers is nice but how does that happen when we refuse to support the wingers? All it takes is an opposing winger or midfielder supporting the opposing fullback and our 1v1 concept is a DOA 1v2. And the other team can do that because Maresca doesn't care much to let fullbacks support the wingers on the outside. Against Palace we had Fofana further outside than Gusto. Fofana??! Now, I suppose one can refer to all the above as me nitpicking, something I certainly wouldn't bother doing if we'd won all the games convincingly. Even so, I would argue that everything described above constitutes unforced errors that just should not happen at this level. I want to believe in Maresca, I really do, but he has to show that he can actually make use of the team. I don't want to hear any nonsense about how the team isn't "good enough". If we miss top 4, it's not the components of the race car that are to blame, it's the driver behind the wheel.

I'll always say that tosin was signed to push Trev away from the club. Trev offers you versatility and tosin is a one trick pony. And you can't say this is a Maresca signing because he was signed before Maresca came in. And people may say we need a Thiago Silva replacement but levi, Benoit, fofana, disasi and Trev that's five center backs and if James got injured Trev can play right back as well to take a bit of the burden off Malo. Disasi at right back don't like it because he is not a tackler and not pacey centre back, he's more of a thiago Silva like proactive not reactive. So yh I just don't feel well needed to sign another centre back at all.
