Analysis and Review - Episode 1: Awake - Life is Strange: Before the Storm 

Thank a bunch Rock, good to see you again! Can't believe I never talked about the music, I really loved Daughters take on Life is Strange and especially Chloe. They made a soundtrack that really relates to her character and was still able to hit all the right chill vibes that Season 1 did (again adding to my comments of making something new yet staying familiar to the original). I'm currently listening to the complete soundtrack and can't wait to see how they use the music that hasn't been used yet. I've also been listening and discovering their previous work and I'm liking what I'm hearing. I also really liked the other artists they use as well. I think I've listened to "Through The Cellar Door" by Lanterns on the Lake about a million times since playing. It does a great job of creating this atmosphere that compliments the scenes it plays over, which was something the original Life is Strange was masterful at doing. It's not just there to force you to feel a certain feeling because that's what you're meant to be feeling, like how movies play sad music because "it's a sad moment and you should feel sad!". So yeah, love the music, can't wait for more daughter and just more music in general. JUST RELEASE EPISODE 2 ALREADY DECK NINE, PLS.

Thank you so much! I'm definitely torn on whether Rachel has any genuine feelings for Chloe. It seems so real in the game, but she is a great actress and truly great actresses can make anything seem genuine. But at the same time it could be that those feelings are real, but that Rachel chooses to go behind Chloe's back with other people anyway, knowing full well what she's doing. So even if her feelings are genuine, what does that say about her person? So many questions. I've actually just finished playing Episode 2, IT'S AMAZING, working on my first impressions video right now, hoping I get it out soonish!

WilliamHella I think we'll definitely have to wait and see who really Rachel Amber is, but I'm loving it so far, the romance and all that cheesy shit she's into hahaha can't wait to see your impressions!

I saw a bit of that video! Lot's of cool, interesting details he reveals about EP1. And yes I love the details in the facial expressions. Best part of a game that's focused around it's characters.

The same woman who Rachels dad was meeting up with at the Overlook. Who she actually is we don't really know, people have dug around in the files and have actually discovered her name, Ruth.

Thank you so much! I'm glad someone listens to my ramblings ;) At the moment I don't have any plans to do other games, then on top of that my knowledge on other games that I love isn't at the same level as my knowledge on Life is Strange. So I'll focus on LIS for now.

I'm promising you, replay that scene with imagining the binder if full of subjects from the dark room. Your entire opinion will change on that possible outcome, the only problem is Jefferson isn't part of the school yet. So that theory may be busted. I also don't remember what date the receipt was when it showed Sean Prescott signing off for the bill of the dark room.

Hey thanks for checking out my earlier analysis :) I can nitpick a bit on Chloe's monologues but I can admit she does have some great lines throughout both episodes. My only real issue is when it's relating to her objective. And oh my gosh I forgot about Samuel's voice, totally caught me off-guard when I heard him in Episode 2. Really not a fan of his new voice because of just how different he sounds, but who knows, maybe I'll get used to it.

omg u are right. i didn even notice without rachel screaming :D

I don't think there will be unfortunately (as much as I would like that!). Rachel going missing and ending up where she does is a crucial plot point for having Season 1 occur in the first place. So I think all we can really do is just enjoy the moments they'll have between each other next episode.

and she just tried to cover it and didnt want to talk about it with chloe cuase she knew how depressed chloe was at that point of time and didnt want to also make her feel bad for her aswell

q0PRIDE0p I played through the first game again and it seems as if Max is content with Seattle but there has to be a reason for not contacting Chloe for so long. I mean, they are best friends. It doesn't make sense.

Thanks Gabriela :) For the time being I don't have too many thoughts on the woman at the end. We know she was the woman who Rachels father met up and is supposedly cheating on her mother with. We know her name is Ruth and that she has some interesting tattoos, especially her butterfly. But that's all we know. I suspect when Episode 2 releases we'll learn a little bit more about her and then we can analyse/theorize about her, just at the moment there's nothing much to go on.

Oh my bad! Someone took a look at the files of Episode 1 and discovered her name through there. So technically we’re not really supposed to know her name yet officially but I wouldn’t count it as a spoiler or anything.

Aahh, I see. I was going down the rabbit hole with a tinfoil hat on trying to tie Skip casually mentioning Justin Williams' mother parking illegally, to Justing being blonde, to his last name starting with W, to Chloe's comments on the AW+BW and AW+OL marks on the tree (implying AW is promiscuous), to the blonde mistress. Guess my theory is falling apart now.
