Nice video but personally I would have done better because I have a strong sense of empathy no offence since it’s just my opinion and opinions don’t matter.

For lindsay, it was confirmed that she voted herself off because she didn't want to be there. This is backed up by the fact that earlier in the episode she says "I forgot how hard this game is, no amount of lip gloss is worth this!" She was actively throwing to get herself eliminated.

My personal theory on why Chris's voice sounds different is that it's Topher in such a perfect Chris cosplay that he may as well BE Chris. it's completely unserious but it may as well be the end point for Topher.

Honestly, Lindsay egged on three people just to make sure she got herself eliminated. She already said back in Island that if she knew there was a resort for the losers, she'd have lost in the first episode. In All-Stars she keeps her word and gets herself eliminated on purpose just to enjoy the loser privileges.

As a Eva enjoyer, I’d like to point out she not only makes it through unscathed, she comes out of it a slightly better person. She really is a trooper

I feel bad for Gwen. At worst she was antisocial at the beginning of the show but she did nothing wrong and could’ve asked out of it with, at the very least, some new friends if she was typecasted as the bad guy

"He's too dumb to care" Nah, Lightning is a champion for not falling for Heather's crying game. It was so satisfying watching him tackle her for that million dollar case. My boy said "you're crazy" 🤣

Another thing I want to point out about Zoey's trauma is the fact that she literally had to watch her boyfriend slowly go insane, and eventually attempt to kill her. I know everyone argues with that whole shebang because "omg she's so stupid how could she have seriously believed Mal for as long as she did," but I think we should look at things from her perspective. She wasn't shown the same things the viewers were. Sure, we got the truth that Mike was actually Mal handed to us on a silver platter, but Zoey did not get that liberty. She did not see everything we saw. And you can't blame someone for wanting to think their partner is a good person. A really big reason I believe Zoey was so adamant about Mike being alright is because we already know she's a very shy, anxious, and unconfident girl. When she finally found a guy that actually liked and cared for her, she was so happy to finally have that feeling of self-worth. She didn't want to believe that Mike turned evil because then she would lose the only thing she felt truly confident about. And lets be honest with ourselves - If people were repeatedly talking shit about your best friend/partner, you'd be pretty hesitant to believe it too. Anyway, back to trauma. She was beaten down throughout all of AS, from Mal manipulating her to everyone believing she was stupid and 'blind'. And even when she finally came to the realization that Mal had taken control, she still couldn't bring herself to hurt him because she knew deep down the boy she loved was still in there somewhere. Unfortunately, Mal did not give her the same mercy. He hunted her down serial killer style and attempted to drown her. I can't imagine how terrifying that must've been for her, to look into the eyes of the boy who used to love you as said boy tries to end your life. It's so sad to think about the kind of PTSD she likely suffered following the show. All in all, I believe that Zoey's extremally overhated and quite frankly, underestimated. However, these are just my opinions/theories, you can believe in whatever works for you:)

For real, the "TDI is hell and Chris is Satan himself" theory isn't as far fetched considering the years worth of therapy a lot of the contestants need after the show.

The fact that Eva was the only character to not get her life ruined by this show. It's just. Eva is really the best character on the whole show.

Fun fact: Scott's Trauma Chair was a reference to the character Captain Pike from the original Star Trek! He's a ship captain that, having sustained physical and mental deformities, is bound to a mechanical chair where he can only respond with beeps. Still doesn't make Scott's treatment any less morbid, though

Random notes I'm adding as the video goes on: - In defense of Beardo, I think it's been confirmed that the canonical reason for his gimmick was because he was really shy and could only express himself through sound effects, and it was through that method of expressing himself that he not only got eliminated, but also blew his chance of getting over his shyness and actually making a few friends. Now put yourself in his shoes. Imagine you're really shy and the only way to cope with that is by making random sound effects. Now imagine annoying your teamates so much that they eliminate you. That would hurt you mentally. It hurts to get a chance to make friends for once in your life and end up pushing them away. Also, it was a shame he died tho. Lol. -That is actually some really great foreshadowing (I'm not telling you if I'm talking about Zoey's audition tape or Anne Maria's)

It is actually possible for Mike and his alters to come back together, but it’s like fixing a broken plate with tape, he can always split again. D.I.D is more complicated then how it’s represented in the show, but when they show clips of what’s happening in Mikes head that is probably the systems headspace (where the alters are when they are not fronting) and is mist likely meant to be a metaphorical look into Mikes mind.

OCD is an anxiety disorder and the idea is its characterized by distracting, attention-consuming thoughts (obsessions) and behaviors that are performed to relieve said anxiety (compulsions). If anything, trent's behavior is a much more accurate portrayal of the condition than the stereotypical neat freak behavior.

To add onto Beth's new found misfortune, in one of the aftermath episodes, the ex contestants get a chance to compete in world tour. Beth makes it through all of the challenges and is about to win, but then Blainley blurts out the answer, and Beth is scammed out of her chance of rejoining the game.

My theory about Mike is that his trauma was being put in juvenile detention for something he didn’t do, and Mal was the first personality he developed in order to survive in prison.

As someone with DID, it's nice to see people talk about Mike's theories about his trauma or system. I have my own theories I can't share because I don't have any friends that like the show or the character as me. I'm craving a video about Mike's system, I don't think he was left with psychological damage from the show but he must have some fucked up backstory.

You could argue that Eva came away worse from the show. She claims that being tricked by Justin will get her laughed out of the gym back home. As the field reporter on the aftermath show, Eva was awkward and vulnerable, which she probably found pretty embarrassing. And I’m not convinced that the anger management counselling worked. She still seems pretty aggressive. That being said, I hope that I’m wrong because I like Eva and I think she deserves good things

can we just take a moment to acknowledge the commitment of this man. i have never seen someone take an entire year to make a 2 hour long video discussing a childhood television show and watch the show repeatedly to create this script for entertainment. He created and analysed multiple total drama theories, proved them, debunked them and created new ones. This man shaved his head to make a point about how hair is an essential part of mental being. I think that Trent’s derailment (while bad writing) is realistic. He’s a high schooler suspecting all of his friends non-stop for weeks on national television. If that doesn’t make you develop paranoia and obsessively latch onto the one person you fully trust (Gwen), I don’t know what will.

Asides from the contestants I think another person who was severely impacted by the show was Chris. There’s a huge contrast between season 1 Chris and reboot Chris. In the first season he’s not ‘abusive’ and more of just a bully. As the seasons went on and grew even more popular he was sucked in by the fame. He would do anything for ratings, no matter whose lives he was putting at risk. I don’t think his time in jail helped either.

Theory about Mike: Manitoba is an example of him developing a personality through trauma. Manitoba wasn’t just because he put on a hat, it was a response to the trauma of being in an extremely dangerous island and needing to be as brave and daring as an Indiana Jones type. And the thing about Mal is that we never learned why Mike went to Juvie. The problem with a system that criminalizes mental illnesses results in people like Mike going to jail over misunderstandings. Now, we know imprisonment is traumatic and since Mike has created new personalities as a defensive mechanism like with Manitoba, there's truly a chance that Mal was technical innocent and born out of requiring a tough personality to survive Juvie.

I find it VERY funny when a character has green screen green in their picture and suddenly, they have a forest hair or shirt. It's just my favorite thing ever (Genuinely)

1:40:09 My theory is that Chris was doing some sort of experimentations with the Tiki idols and his own DNA, maybe has a way to fuse the Tiki idols into his bloodstream or something like that so he won't have to keep getting idols. This plan presumably failed, since he still wears the pouch around his neck, but, through some mishaps or as a by-product of the experimentations, the Tiki idols took the shape of Chris's face and, through accidental cross contamination, some of the plants also became fused with Chris's DNA and also developed a similar visage to him as well.

My headcanon is that Anne Maria actually made quite a lot off the gem she found in the mines, because although Chris claims that cubic zirconia is, "practically worthless" he's not exactly correct. While yes, cubic zirconia is valued as little as $10 per carat, the one she leaves with is absolutely massive. It's larger than her head! The average diameter of the human head is 14.4cm, or 144mm. The gemstone seems to be about double the diameter of her head (288mm), so we'll go with that. A 40 mm cubic zirconia round cut is equal to 374 carats. Why is this random gemstone in an abandoned toxic waste mine already cut? I don't know, let's not question it. Scaling that up we get (288/40)^3 x 374 = 139,595 carats. Mother of God. I always thought it was quite ironic that Heather got her hair cut off in season 1 of total drama. Heather had previously threatened, after the cooking challenge, that if Lindsay ever betrayed her again that she would cut off all her hair. I don't know if Lindsay knew that Heather was going to get that dare but it was still quite funny that that came back full circle.

Ok as someone in a DID system (and as an alter with a special interest on psychology) Mike has *fascinated* me for years, even before we all realised we were part of a system (that + our diagnosis was really recent so this is all kinda still fresh lmfao) so I was kind of on the edge of my seat waiting for Mike to be talked about. First I wanna say that the things you said about DID systems, very cool, very good. I love all the members of my system and I wanna help take care of them as much as they try to help take care of me. That said, the idea that many of us don't see it as a curse is.... well, I guess it's subjective from system to system. The general consensus I get with the systems I know other than the one I'm in is that it's kind of both (unless all the alters *really* hate each other which also happens sometimes)? At least, in our case it's kind of still awful being a part of a system because even though we all care about each other, we can never really have our own lives outside of each other. Theres a question that goes around sometimes that is "if there was a cure for DID, would you take it?" and for us it's yes, but only if we all get to have our own bodies which. Very sci fi/fantasy and never gonna happen in our lifetime but oh well, we can dream :') That huge ramble aside, onto Mike's representation (or at least, my opinion based on my own research and experiences + experiences I know of other systems I've met) and how I believe he was screwed over BADLY by being on Total Drama: So he's definitely not the best rep, but he's absolutely not the *worst*, especially for a cartoon that aired around the 2010s, which is refreshing. The worst part (in my opinion and in opinions I've seen other systems having) is the whole "fixing DID with the big red button" thing. Because... that's not how it works (yes I'm aware this is a dumb, silly, fun cartoon but I like rambling about these kinds of things). Final fusion/complete reintegration, that is. Now, alters *can* fuse and stay fused, but to fuse the whole system takes quite a lot of therapy (according to the psych that diagnosed us), at least a few years of constant therapy (i forget the specific types) especially when some of your fellow alters dont want to reintegrate. And with the inclusion of Mal... oh man, Mal. Ok disclaimer, I actually *love* Mal. I know that his representation is kind of not great because of the whole "evil alter" stereotype thing but it isn't like we haven't had our own fair share of "Mals" in our system- never as actively malicious, but that type of alter is what is often called a Persecutor (an alter who either actively harms/ruins the lives of other people or the body/other alters). And yeah, that point about something *really* bad having to happen to Mike in his past for Mal to be a thing in the system, that kind of checks out from personal experience. Side tangent within a side tangent: ours was never like Mal exactly but her favorite characters/people she related to most in media were people like Yuno Gasai from Future Diary and Yandere-chan from Yandere Sim (ps, rip Yan Sim your dev sucks), which should say a lot about how... warped her sense of relationships and right and wrong were. I won't get into the trauma we went through for her to get like that but it was a *lot* and the only reason she didn't do anything bad to anyone else is because we had other alters who could either reel her in or focus her aggression. That being said, we still did get into plenty of trouble partially due to her. (btw she gave me permission to talk about this and also has been doing way better for years, being kinder to herself, others and the rest of the system.) But anyway, back to Mal; he fits the Persecutor role surprisingly well and yeah, it's kind of alarming that he exists to the extent that he exists because if he was the reason they ended up in juvie, you can only imagine what kind of fucked up shit they all went through for their brain to form an alter who, due to how the brain generally forms alters for a *survival purpose*, formed Mal to be manipulative, power hungry and sadistic. This implies some pretty fucked up abuse that I theorize eventually made Mal snap in some way, and then when he was sent to juvie because of it, the brain wouldn't let him go as an alter because he was also necessary for their survival in juvie. And then he potentially also got reintegrated with everyone else. Because psychologically speaking, alters can't die- they generally only go into dormancy so even if he was somehow forced into dormancy or locked away again (locked away is more likely and also it does happen thanks to alters known as Gatekeepers), he probably would've also been fused with everyone else. Which as we discussed before, fusion *can* happen but I want to not that it's not really the same thing as "final fusion". Which also, final fusion isn't exactly permanent. If a system has decided they want to pursue final fusion, things can trigger that to fall apart again, which leads me back to Mike. I do believe that all the alters did end up fusing but I don't believe it would even be close to a final fusion because that, as also discussed before, final fusion takes a LOT of therapy to maintain. And with Mal still either kicking around in dormancy or joining the fusion, eventually his goals aren't gonna align with everyone elses and he's gonna cause problems again, potentially causing enough stress to unfuse everybody. I believe that in Total Drama, this "red button fix" was temporary at best. It was also a decision made while under a really stressful challenge, which yeah, when a bunch of people are stressed and have the same goal it's gonna be easier to fuse temporarily and *see* it as a final fusion, but I'm willing to bet it doesn't last- especially because Mike is still a teenager and trust me as someone in a DID system whos body is an adult who knows multiple systems who are also adults.... yeahhhh it doesn't get easier from teenhood without serious professional help (especially when you're a high-amnesia system, which we are not and it's *still* difficult as an adult). Soooo is Mike and his system fucked because of the extra stress from Total Drama? Yeah most likely. This will be something he will be talking about in therapy in the future, assuming Mal doesn't get worse and becomes That DID Stereotype, which honestly I wouldn't put it past him but still, not great. And if anyone has read this far, holy crap thank you??? My canon for the new season of TDI, is that it's a separate timeline to All-Stars (I could also see it being a new timeline from Revenge). Where instead of coming back to the island with fan-favourites, they came back with all new characters (the gap would probably be the same length, since the island would still need time to become toxic-waste free). The main reason for this, is the fact that Priya said her parents were super fans, and she'd been training for this her entire life, meaning the show would have had to be over 16 years old by the time the reboot occurs. What she says is probably hyperbole, but there's probably some truth to it, like her parents being super fans, but Priya likely just trained from an early age, and not since birth, so it probably would be about 11, or 12 years. A show THAT old that only had 1 season would be very unlikely to get rebooted, but one that ran for 4 pretty successful seasons and only an approximate 8 year gap before the reboot, is much more likely.

The psychology of the characters is fascinating. Scott had a tough mother while Duncan had an overly permissive one, and they both ended up becoming attracted to aggressive women, and DJ lacked a father figure, so he seeks out donineering male role models. 🤔 I never noticed that when I watched this show as a kid.

I really hope that season 2 keeps the winners in mind, so they can be referenced

Most people don't even know they have the disorder because the point of the disorder is to hide the trauma from them. That's why it took so long for me to realize I might have it.

I am so happy that you actually pointed out Sierra’s creepiness, everyone seems to like her and she’s known as a fan favorite but I always found her really annoying. On her own, I think she’s a decent character, but with Cody she’s unbearable to watch. And people actually find her and Cody CUTE. It’s a shame Beardo died though :(

My theory is owen's from a blended family, he felt ignored as a kid maybe as a side effect of the inital divorces he older brothers maybe went with his dad and him being the younger brother stayed with his mom, total drama happens and why hes gone his mom remarries and he gets two younger step brothers.

RR gave Geoff/Noah/Owen happy endings and pretty much fixes the reasons they were on the board to begin with. Geoff makes a ton of new friends and wins in certain timelines, Owen is a reality tv pro and would definitely have money now, and Noah finds his life fulfilment in Emma.

For Owen: He could be the youngest of 3 and still have 2 younger siblings-- maybe his parents separated and the 2 younger are half-siblings

I think Duncan's story is really sad In jail, you can't be sensitive. You have to be tough and emotionless, because if you show weakness you can die. In season 1, Duncan mostly acts like he's supposed to, as a big scary bad guy who doesn't care about anything or anyone, except for the rare moment of showing more, especially when talking about his lost dog. Which is also the first sign that he likes animals. But after that, season by season and gets more and more soft, probably having trouble hiding it, especially when it comes to Courtney and, well, animals. (Talking about animals I think that having Harold accidentally kill his pet was really dark especially for someone traumatized by the loss of his dog. And no it's not more okay because his pet was a spider) And it all comes to a high in all stars where he's put in the "good guys" team, which makes him realize how soft he let himself be ON LIVE TV (which, again, is potentially dangerous for a guy in jail) and decide to prove that he's still a bad boy tough guy by, well, arson And that's what lend him in big boy jail So yeah all I see if a teen who tries really hard to stick to a role society gave him even if it's litterally sending him to prison

to strengthen your point to about Mike: the show was trying to portray something called "final fusion" which is a real thing in therapy for some folks with DID; HOWEVER, its being questioned on whether it should be what's strived for since even after you go through it... you can *still* split alters after it if you go through any traumatic events. and uhh mike seems to be under the impression that he's fully "cured" which isn't the greatest and is unfortunately a somewhat common false confidence that people who underwent final fusion in the past once had as well thanks to psychiatrists not fully understanding that it wasn't permanent. so good luck to mike if he ever shows back up on the show. they'll definitely traumatize his ass again and god knows what'll happen to him at that point 😭 btw i should clarify that i have DID myself 👍

Hey what you've said about trebt and brain injuries is ABSOLUTELY true. I got a minor concussion on March 9th. Then about at most 6 weeks later, I got into a fight and was slammed down with my head being thrusted into the ground, causing swelling of brain tissue. That shit definitely made me more paranoid than I was. Luckily I've managed to recover.

I watched your "Izzy isn't crazy theory" video before the show but I had knowledge on the show from watching shorts and edits of it. Watching the show for the first time with that theory in mind changes how you view that character. If I watched the show again knowing what happens to everyone it will definitely change my perception of it. Another example was watching World Tour after finding out that Heather/Alejandro win and end up together in the next season changed the way I viewed their rivalry.
