Analyzing Evil: Ghostface From The Scream Franchise 

Man, you're one of the few youtubers, who put out such frequent content, that over the years has not only avoided a decrease in quality but it’s gotten better and better. You’re one a whole different level now and you’re awesome!

It is crazy how many people choose to use the mask to go after the same people. It's like they are trying to finish something of the past by giving ghostface that win but it's the end when they don't use the mask when they lose

The closest Ghostface has ever been to his own character is in Dead By Daylight. In general, Danny Johnson is very cunning, sneaky, smart and charming. When he dons the mask, he is vicious, unmerciful, and confident, which is essentially what the blueprint for every Ghostface killer in the movies

I'd LOVE a video on it's own on Mickey Altieri. He was the most different and unique amongst Ghostfaces as he did purely for pleasure but also the first to want fame but not as a hero or a survivor. But as a killer. He literally took pride on what he has done and wants movie's and documentaries etc to be made about his crimes

The fact that Ghostface is a persona that anyone could adopt in a way makes him far more terrifying. It gives him an almost godlike quality. A symbol of death that can never truly be destroyed.

I’d love to see an Analyzing Evil on Chucky. I get he’s not up there with Jason, Michael, or Freddy but this year is his 35th anniversary and he does have a place in horror.

It is intriguing how both of Wes Craven's iconic slasher villains have their origins in sexual assault, with both Freddy and Roman having been born from gang sexual assault, an act of unspeakable concentrated evil that brings fourth progeny whose lives seem almost inevitably steeped in evil beyond anything anyone could possibly conceive. Craven's signature villains both are immortal because of how they live in the minds of humanity- Freddy being an immortal demon literally kept alive through the fear he instills in his victims, while Ghostface passes from killer to killer like a memetic disease. Freddy is a killer through genes, as the bastard son of a hundred maniacs genetically predisposed for predation and violence. Meanwhile Ghostface is a killer through memes, less of an individual and more of an idea that was never tied to a single person even from his first kill. Freddy survives through victims, while Ghostface survives through killers. Some may say these two Wes Craven icons are completely different entities, but in reality, I think they are actually both different expressions of a similar idea, an infectious evil that exists within the collective unconscious, always waiting for a new vessel to rain down more fear and suffering on the innocent and not-so-innocent alike. Both are intensely psychological killers that toy with their victims expertly, and attack where their victims feel the most secure and safe, but in reality are more vulnerable than anyone realizes.

I was just thinking how cool it would be if you did the scream franchise and then you delivered before I could even suggest it. Youre awesome!!

It’s crazy how many ghostfaces walk among us. Seemingly ordinary people wearing a facade or persona but the real them are some of the most vile and evil people ever. We probably walk by them everyday

Something about the Ghostface persona after watching this vid makes it akin to an existing mythological being/creature. I just can't place my finger on what one exactly (death/grim is too easy a pick also)

So the Ghostface persona is similar to the "Anonymous" persona. (Vigilante, Black hood, White Mask,)

Since you did Leatherface some time ago I have another suggestion of a villain you should cover, Charlie Hewitt/Sheriff Hoyt from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2003 remake + 2006 prequel The Beginning.

I wonder if you could make a quick take on DBD’s version of Ghostface, unlike other licensed killers, this one is a completely new character that uses the Ghostface persona. One particular thing that differentiates him from the Scream versions is that it’s far more professional and calculating, making him far more dangerous.

My dad is a pastor and my mom was a school teacher, so I did NOT grow up watching horror movies. I knew *of* the classics but hadnt watched them. So there I was, my senior year of high school and a bunch of us went to the movies. They picked the movie and I didn't really pay attention to what I was paying for. So I was COMPLETELY SURPRISED when not even 10 mins into the film and Drew Barrymore gets murdered lol😅 Scream was my first horror movie I had ever seen, and to this day, it freaks me right the F out 😆 Thank you so much for this video, it was a very nice trip down memory lane!

There is a great theory out there which says that Roman didn't act alone but that he ended up killing his manipulated partner (possibly Angelina) and took all the credit. Which is actually perfect for his character since he originally manipulated Billy who manipulated the weak minded Stew.

Great video and yes Scream is a classic example if unintended consequences. The acts of John Milton lead a woman to have an unwanted child that was given up for adoption but once that child re-entered her life she told the child now a man that he couldn't be in her life which caused him to snap and stalk the woman. Seeing faults of her own that may or may not have happened prior to the events of the reunion the man recorded her extra martial affairs causing a family to shatter. The son of that shattered family would go on to murder several people until he and his partner were killed. But the mother if that shattered family would take up the mantle and continue the murders before being killed herself. Abd finally the man who started it all would get his chance to finish what he felt he started only to die at the hands of his long list sister. A series of events born out of one wrong action that led to one wrong after another, a wrong that led to countless lives lost.

Fan and long time watcher, I completly and utterly disagree with the way you have gone about your censorship. its kind of gauling that a channel whose exclusive series is "analysing evil" would choose monitization over speaking openly about human experience. when rape becomes assault, thats not far away from it becoming "an inappropriate tickle". also a person could be assaulted while walking down the street, but that doesnt mean they've been raped. this kind of cencorship makes it difficult for victims of abuses to come forwards, as even the media they consume begins to talk around what they've experiensed, as suppose to addressing it. but you want more money
