Some anamorphic footage I shot during a location scout. Film emulation color grade using CinePrint16 in Davinci Resolve: www.tombolles.... Song: Deep End by Bennett Coast
Hey tom, great video! I was wondering if there was a 35mm version of cineprint! If there isn't, that's ok. But if there are any good 35mm film emulations out there please let me know! I'm looking!
You can make a 35mm look with the powergrade simply but lowering the blur, grain, and halation size. 16mm vs 35mm stock are simply different cut sizes, so the primary difference is resolution
Hi, I just bought your emulation pack and i do love it but i am having an issue. the image is blocky in darker areas and pixelated (EVEN IN BRIGHTER AREAS). I have tried turning up the denoise setting but have had no improvement. I have the correct cst set up. i am using bmpcc 4k. Any reason why footage is looking pixelated/blocky
Hey Tom, if I’m using a CineBloom lens filter when filming and then apply CinePrint in post, do you think it will make the halation too much? Or do you think it will help the overall image? Thanks!
Hello Tom, don't know if you will answer this Question 6 months after this video was posted. But want to ask if you use any kind of Mist Filter or you do everything in post with your Cineprint16?
I personally don’t like promist filters and don’t use them. You can achieve the functionally same effect, but with far more flexibility, by using a layer mixer in linear space and adding a blurred version of the image over top of itself with the add blend mode.
You can use the free version of Resolve but you need to disable the Denoise and Grain nodes because they’re limited to the studio version. There are free alternatives for grain like using overlays / mattes
Hey, I've purchased the V2 but when I apply the grade, absolutely nothing happens. When I double click on the still, only two nodes show up randomly. I know that is product is good but I'm kindly asking for your assistance with this.
@@TomBolles I'm using version 16 as my PC is unable to upgrade to version 17. I keep getting the message that says, "PC does not meet the requirements for installing software".
Hi Tom, how do you use cineprint 16 with, for example, red raw? Are you supposed to decode beforhand or use the cst node with specific parameters for input color space and gamma?
