I watched the virtual event last night with VP Harris and Oprah. The sight of people of different colors and backgrounds, different faiths and flavors was SO refreshing. Not like the stark white angry faces at Trump rallies, Trump and Vance included. Unless you are 100% Native American, you are an immigrant. I'd rather live in a country of immigrants than in a country of Trumps.

My blood line is Yavapai and apache. My families go back hundreds of years. The early settlers, immigrants took over the natives and incarcerated all of them, were are only taught misinformation. Trump's wife was an immigrant until she became first lady! And her family just became citizens, only because Trump was president! Did anyone ask them what they ate? Heavens my grandmother was born in Southern Arizona before it was Arizona. Her grandparents and their grandparents on and on only knew that this land was a gift to serve! Americans are all immigrants at some point!

I was raised by parents who taught me to appreciate food from around the world. Not surprisingly, I became a foodie. New immigrants in town equals new dining opportunities for me. Recently, a new food truck appeared at my favorite gas station. The owner is serving Syrian food and it is delicious! I envy the folks in Springfield, Ohio, because Haitian food is great. Anyone who has yet to sample it is in for a real treat!

I was born and raised in Miami, Florida and have eaten Haitian food, which can be very spicy, but delish. I worked at a university for 20 years and many of my coworkers and professors were from Haiti. One coworker in particular, used to bring her food for everyone to partake in. I loved it! A huge part of our student body is from all over the world! There were many who were Islamic and Muslim. During the Muslim ban, all of us were very sad and frightened for those students.

Immagrants generally eat what foods they ate in native country. I worked with a man from India and he'd bring in his meal and share. Some of the most wonderful food I'd ever tasted. Why do they think restaurants are opened up by cubans,Vietnamese, chinese, etc.
