Anandamayi Ma Gives Gayatri Initiation 1936 

Anandamayi Ma seems to have been remarkably supportive of women aspirants for her day and age. “In the Company of the Wise,” a book by Swami Shivananda Radha, Swami Radha talks about Anandamayi Ma’s kindness towards her. Swami Radha went to visit Anandamayi Ma at one of her ashrams. As Swami Radha was leaving, Ma called her back. “First she asked me how much time I could set aside to think of her, and what time would be best once I was in Canada. I figured out...the time would have to be late at night...By midnight I could really give attention to her. Then she said that at this time I should remember her, because she would give me an hour of her meditation at the same time in India. I was amazed at her generous offer...She wanted to help sustain me...because I was a rather new sanyasi (barely three years.) Her concern touched me deeply.”

I never grow tired of seeing these videos and photos of our divine mother.
